What they want to do is to make a game that remains always consistent with the story they want to convey, so that all the game mechanics, enemy locations and items uses can serve as clues to discover the story. It's been said that all the dark souls games are predating blood-borne. And that there is evidence of this in blood-borne in the chalice dungeons where you see old corpses of dead men in knight like armor. Something you don't see anywhere else in blood-borne. also the dark souls series is could easily take place during the medieval times which is between the 5th century ad and the 15th century ad. Which easily predates Victorian England which is the inspiration for the setting of blood-borne. Which began in the 1800's and ended in the early 1900's. which is perfect because sekiro shadows die twice can fit right in between the two as the heir of the samurai began in the 1600 and ended in the 1800.
@TheBriguy19985 жыл бұрын
@@chrislopez7395 It's pretty much confirmed that Dark Souls and Bloodborne take place in different universes, although there is an argument to be made that the world of Bloodborne is the new painted world created at the end of DS3, painted with the blood of the dark soul. Sekiro on the other hand has many indications that it is related to Bloodborne beyond themes of cursed immortality. Blood granting immortality, centipede living inside people, transcendental beings living in pocket dimensions (dreams/divine realms) that bestow immortality to a chosen champion or heir, squid people, the list goes on. I personally believe that those two games take place in the same world.

The Interior Ministry is highly likely the central or regional government lead by Tokugawa Ieyasu. The first clue comes straight from the name Interior Ministry, the Kanji version of which is 内府, the position Tokugawa held under Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and how he was referred to by some even afterward (江戸の内府). The second clue is the Kanji version of the Red Guard (赤備). It is a legion in Sengoku era originated from the Takeda clan, and later adopted by Sanada Yukimura (sided with Ishida after Toyotomi) and Ii Naomasa (sided with Tokugawa after Toyotomi). Combined with the previous clue, the Red Guard in Sekiro is probably the legion led by Ii Naomasa sent by Tokugawa. By my interpretation, this piece of lore puts the historical setting of Sekiro between the Battle of Suriagehara (and the demise of Ashina clan) and the end of Sengoku era, which happens to be the period in which Tokugawa was rapidly gaining power.

I mean you have the Okinaga flame vent and in onimusha you have the main antagonists which is nobunaga oda. You fight demons in onimusha and you fight infested in sekiro (which are demons pretty much) Idk I guess what I’m trying to say is what if sekiro is a back story or something of how demons or infested became to be in the land of Japan. 5:58 Is pretty shocking to hear what a boss is willing to say when they think they’ve won and to hear what they say on their dying breath. And for Sekiro to be constantly seeing this over and over is probably an emotional rollercoaster. Some of the stuff they’ll say to you as they go on to do whatever they had planned next really shows how much they actually cared about you or at least put emphasis on that fact. But it’s also true that their dying words show how much they didn’t realize they thought about you.

Actually, what's interesting about Sekiro, and presumably the reaction of the fans, is that the PLOT of Sekiro is much more complicated than Dark Souls, whereas Dark Souls had much more complicated lore. But unlike Dark Souls 2, which also had a complicated plot, Sekiro delivers it in a phenomenally interesting and less confusing way. Pretty much everything you find, really furthers to expand the plot of the game, rather than the specifically the lore. Almost everything you find is critical to understanding the core plot of the game better. But an important aspect of this is that the core plot, without further investigation, is simple enough that you can understand the basics of what's going on, without further exploration (aside from a few bizarre things that happen). When you fully investigate and 100% the game, everything unfolds to show you all the reveals and twists of the main plot line. Another thing to point out is that even the SECRETS are paced in an interesting way. It's almost like there is a b plot, a c plot, and a subtext that is all paced in parallel to the pacing and reveals of the main plot. A perfect example: The purple shinobi at hirata estate. The first time you encounter this character MIGHT be the first time you encounter a shinobi of this kind at all and additionally, you might not even realize who this fella is when encountering him. It's not till much later in the MAIN plot, that you are given direct facts that these purple buddies are Interior Ministry SCUM (however, exploring secrets can reveal hints to this ahead of time). Now what's interesting about the pace of this reveal is this: The 1st ministry shinobi, found in the hirata estate, is a secret to begin with and entirely missable AND you discover before finding out he's a ministry shinobi. So you might have people that discover the secret, wonder what it's about, and then entirely forget about it when they learn that the purple dudes are ministry shinobi. It takes either a reason to return to the hirata estate and fight the enemy again (like in a second playthrough) to make you re-discover the truth (this time equipped with the information that he's a ministry shinobi), OR for you to remember that the purple dude was AT the hirata estate, at the time it is revealed to you that the purple dudes are ministry. In the second scenario, at the same time you learn who the purple dudes are, it clicks in your brain that the ministry were behind Hirata estate also. Because of this pacing, the discovery of the truth behind harata estate is IMMENSELY satisfying. It provides players that find these well paced secrets, the satisfaction of feeling like they discovered the truth themselves. On the other hand, it can give players that hold of on hirata estate, or return on a second play through, a sense of reveal. But the kicker about that example, among many of the potential examples of secrets and pacing in Sekiro, is that virtually ALL of it is directly related to the main plot. Basically: Dark Souls has a simple plot, with some secret subtext, and A LOT of secret lore which gives you new outlooks on the main plot. Simple plot + secret lore with subtext. But Sekiro is more like this: Seemingly simple plot but with secrets that ADD to the plot directly. The more you explore dark souls, the more you learn about the world, which gives you insight to the pretty straight forward plot. The more you explore sekiro, the more a much more complicated and intricate plot unfolds.

I'm pretty sure that Owl NEVER planned for Wolf to survive Hirata Estate. From my understanding, it was completely outside of his expectations for a stray orphan he picked up to eventually become Lord Kuro's shinobi. At that point, it's most likely that Owl did not have extensive knowledge of the immortality granted by the Dragon's Lineage, and simply desired to obtain power via temporary cooperation with the Interior Ministry. That's why both Great Shinobi Owl and Owl (Father) are suprised to see you alive. The whole tragedy of Hirata was by his design... With the sole exception of Wolf coming out of it alive.
@robadc5 жыл бұрын
The text from the Owl Father memory suggests that he definitely did not intend for Wolf to die at the Hirata estate. It describes Owl's views on Wolf, while he did take wolf on on a whim he grew to love him in his own way and hoped to one day duel him to the death. Pretty much confirms that sekiro was not supposed to die there and in fact was not even supposed to be in the estate. The text ends with "he got his wish, if only in an old memory"
@IlluvatarPaladin5 жыл бұрын
@@robadc Precisely. Think about it. The real Owl actually DID battle Sekiro, so what is the ending of that text supposed to mean? But this is the memory of the "past" Owl, and what it means is probably something along the lines of: even though Owl grew attached to Wolf and wished for such a battle, his plan required Wolf's death, and so the opportunity of a duel was lost forever. But in this old memory, you change the outcome and give Owl what he wanted. Remember that Owl, as a Shinobi, is not ruled by emotions and attachment. He can block it all out in order to achieve his goal. That is why he simply assassinated Sekiro in the past, and why he is surprised to see him survive (both in the memory and in the real world), and why the Lone Shadow in the memory is surprised to see you too. The plan was definitely to kill you.
@robadc5 жыл бұрын
@@IlluvatarPaladin My theory on it was that Owl purposefully lured Wolf away from the estate in an effort to spare him. When Wolf showed up it was a major miscalculation and he was forced to access the situation (faking his death, we know Owl has a penchant for manipulation). When Wolf fought and killed Lady butterfly it was a step too far and he was forced to intervene and kill him. I suspect he wanted his duel with Sekiro while he was still in his prime, to have it be a true duel. Atop Ashina castle the Owl we find is older, slower, weaker than he used to be. From what we know about the Owl, that's not what he would've wanted.
@weirdreportt5 жыл бұрын
@@robadc actually here's his plan. He sent out Sekiro to a mission, leaving Kuro and the Hirata Estate vulnerable to any attack. If you explored the Estate and found out the guy in one of the shack he will tell you that you were nowhere to be found when things go south. Implying that he was suppose to guard Kuro personally and the area as well. But due to the fact he was still under Usui, the Owl's command he should still accept orders from him. With the whole estate left vulnerable, Usui finally executed the raid. Also the guy in the shack knows that the whole scene is just an act in order to kidnap Kuro with him saying that you're a traitor. Sekiro, without knowing that he became a vehicle for the whole scene. Him without knowing that the raid was conducted by his Father, set out to save Kuro from below which is a trap. You see, Lady Butterfly knew that Owl was into something really bad, and she intervenes by having Kuro downstairs. (Who knows perhaps she also wants the immortality, or she was to keep Kuro from Owl). She acts aggressively as she knew you were set to go down to kill her so that the Owl could kill you and have Kuro. The only flaw in this theory is that if Owl stabbed Sekiro after the fight then why not get Kuro, it's his perfect opportunity. Perhaps, his time ran out and Genichiro and his troops was already there to save Kuro. Or Owl was into some real shit plotting into something that would make him the hero of the story and the whole political campaign rather than a shinobi killing a child. Also why Owl wants you to betray and kill Kuro if he can kill the kid by his own from the very start and at the rooftop in-game. So many loose ends, feel free to correct and present new theories they are fun
@IlluvatarPaladin5 жыл бұрын
@@robadc Yeah, he was probably just going to inform Wolf of Kuro's death post-fact and have him join the team instead. But then again, the Lone Shadow does say you're supposed to be dead, so who knows what Owl's exact idea was... UNLESS, the Lone Shadow was the one who stabbed Wolf after he killed Lady Butterfly, and Owl only arrived after Wolf and Kuro were gone. Which would kinda explain why Owl didn't interfere in the fight and how Wolf survived without Owl's knowledge. That would also perfectly explain what the Lone Shadow says when you arrive at the memory: he thinks you should be dead because HE was the one stabbing you!

zEeoN you have to get the sake to have a lot of conversations with the sculptor. Talk to the old lady as much as you can, it’s basically a lot of dialogue you have to have with the sculptor, Emma, and I believe Isshin. But mainly the sculptor

Rah B Thanks! I saw it happen in another unrelated video shortly after by pure happenstance and I only missed one eavesdrop to make it happen myself, it seems. But at least there is no trophy tied to it, so heard is heard ;)

zEeoN yes that’s the only things you have to do but it is satisfying to hear Sekiro’s dialogue when fighting the demon of hatred. It’s just so epic and the fight itself is more than defeating a demon and gaining the memory. But you’re actually saving the sculptor and setting him free

Just to clartify, those ninjas you fought on the rooftops before Genichiro are actually serving Ashina. I thought they served Owl/Genichiro directly, hence we find them trying to ambush Isshin, but when ministry ninjas invade with Owl, they do fight against them, for the rest of the game. Not to mention they wear Tengu masks and are thus probably led by the guy who requests you exterminate rats to begin with.

The guy who asks you to eliminate rats is Isshin himself. Also they fight with the blue robed Ashina Elites below the dojo outside Isshin's room if you lure them there so no I don't think they are allied with Isshin. They are called nightjar ninja by the way

Hey, I just came back to sekiro recently. Never finished it. Found this video. And remember how your music choice for Elden ring get overpowered early was so exceptional. Again, The music you choose here while explaining Isshin and the spirit of genchiro taking to kuru. Excellent. Just so good. Like so good
