Maturing is realizing that this song wasn't what made me sad and it was just the peaceful and free feeling it gave me. I've never been free or peaceful. The way i grew up i learned that being ignored was the best way to not get hurt. When you don't know peace you don't like it. The lines "another day goes by. And where was i? All things come to pass with time but i want everything now to be all mine" aren't inherently sad people just think they are "Another day goes by and where was i?" Another day in life of the people who hurt you goes by and you weren't there to make them feel better about themselves by beating you down. You've moved on. "Didn't think id still be here" You thought that you were stuck where you were but you managed to clear your head and worked up the courage to stand up for what you wanted. "What's the use? Im not talking sense" you realized that if they wanted to listen they already would've and telling them how you feel and trying to convince them to acknowledge that they're in the wrong is just a fool's errand. If they loved you then you would know. If they love you then you wouldn't have convince them that they should. "All things come to pass with time but i want everything now to be all mine" Moving on was the best option you have more now and you dont want to lose it like how you let the things you loved then be taken by the toxic people in your life. Your happiness is yours and it will stay that way. Just because you think something is sad doesn't mean it is. Maybe you just aren't ready for it to be happy.

But it's only when you truly realize how much of a terrible person you are or were can you improve. The song also makes me think of every opportunity that goes by, that I just didn't grab. Not because it was too difficult to reach but because I became complacent, the worst crime. And the lyrics are like a realization of the fact that I should be other places, happier places, better places. Not just for myself but for others as well, but these are all mistakes we make growing up, all mistakes we make young. I used to listen to this song every single day in the summer of 2022. Vacations was my all time favorite band and I listened to it every day, that was a horrible time in my life. I was insanely depressed and wildly $u!c!dal, but I still remember that time with such nostalgia. I had a best friend at that time, I texted him all day every day and eventually when the school year started again, we lost contact. This song reminds me of a day of April not too long ago when I was madly in love with a girl who I had known for more than 3 years but I never had caught feelings for until January of the same year. That day I had a high school trip to an amusement park which was closed and only opened for us to do some activities. Not just that but because of an exam we had the following day we were only 6 students and 2 teachers. In the end it was a really fun and chill trip. This music is completely different. As I listen, 17 years of my life come to life before my eyes. I'm in a very bad situation right now, school exams, my new job where I work for money, family and other problems are all on me right now. I'm finishing school now, and I'm taking my steps into the new "life", and it's very difficult. I don't even know what to do and how to do it. My only wish is to be a software developer or graphic designer in Germany. I have now started to learn German. I'm going to save up and buy a computer to learn graphic design and software. I am writing this message on May 30, 2022. I wish to move to Germany after 4-5 years. this song makes me think of the year i’ve spent recovering from depression, self harm, and trauma. every line fits in chronologicaly. i still have ups and downs but it’s getting better and i know all of the bad happened for a reason edit 5/9/2022: Hi guys, i get a comment every now and then and id like to say, the fact that people are here writing meaningful messages towards me is beautiful. You guys really are amazing people. id also like to say i am still on my road to recovery and still suffering ups and owns, but i am feeling amazing. im so glad i am where i am and so happy to know theres people out there that support me. for those in a similar situation, just know you deserve the happiness and joy i have been able to achieve. dont feel bad about not being there yet. Edit, 3/10/24. I’m still here, I’m alive. I’m proud of myself for being alive. I have an amazing boyfriend, I love my family, I love my life. I’m 16 now.
