Great, man! I have an 88 and I've been chasing down vacuum loss like crazy lately. Just replaced all those lines you pointed out on top of the engine. Now I have to see why my HVAC system is only blowing out defrost. Some vacuum leak somewhere. Wish me luck!

I guess I really did not think about checking the EGR valve to see if it was moving I will do that tomorrow thinking about just going getting a map sensor out of the junkyard just to see if that fixes it if it does go buy a new one if the EGR valve is not moving that means a bad EGR if it is that means it's good thanks for taking the time to read and reply to my message you have my subscription

Where would I plug smog machine to find evap leaks? Just any hose would do right? Besides map sensor line what’s another vital hose to check for rough idle?

I have the Comanche and that blue kine is important. They didn' t route those lines to the axle actuator in a way that they could ffollow the axke travel without pulling off!! Dammit it's suposed to go off road n get wild. You find urself stuck in 2 wheel drive in deep mud trying ti hook the lines up. Set them up with a shitload of zip ties to keep them attached ir they'll leave you in a helluva predicament. Dan

I got a 1987 Jeep Cherokee I'm having problems with it it is misfiring is what it seems like I've been doing everything I know how did timing throttle position the control valve it is spitting and sputtering out of the intake would that have anything to do with the map sensor please help

Thomas Hargett it could be the map sensor but it also could be you're EGR valve to cause if u have black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe then that could be the EGR ....I had a problem with my map sensor last time and the symptoms where black smoke out of exhaust and the truck would shake a lot and just make sure to look at you map sensor to make sure it's connected to the throttle body. ..

On the throttle body there is a rubber insert with 2 holes. The first hole has the vac line that goes to the MAP sensor but have no idea what the second hole is for. Right now I have it sealed and I noticed that if it's open the jeep idles a little higher. Not a lot higher but enough to notice. Help!

well just keep that hole covered but if you have a throttle body that has a screw on the throttle body to close the flab on the butterfly valve to control the amount of air that gets in the engine...but just make sure the flab are clean .......I have a video on the throttle body kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHjLi42ZZaxke8k ity its an old you tube channel.

Nice video, I have a 93 Cherokee sport 4.0L, it's giving me a little trouble when it rains or cold weather, as it just won't start, in dry weather it starts no problem, the engine does get a little shaky sometimes though. I did check the ignition code, twice, and got the same numbers 125155, do you have an idea what could it be, that's preventing the engine from starting, it has something to do with cold weather and moisture, I just can't figure out what component is giving me the trouble

Well a battery won't start if it's cold because the lead in the battery needs to be hot or have enough power to start the Jeep especially the power it needs for to turn over the starter because the engine is cold and the oil becomes thicker so it's harder for the starter to turn the Jeep over if there is a low voltage to the starter

The small lines are just vacuum lines that need to be connected to the throttle body

The lines are just vacuum line's that have to stay connected to the throttle body for extra air quality and a map sensor will be connected as well and that is a very important sensor

Bryan Eninger it could be actually... I'm wondering if you're engine is tripling or shaking when you drive it or turn it on.... cause the egr valve also can cause black smoke to because of the lack of transfer of exhausts air to make the smoke clearer....

The charcoal canister line goes into the tube that comes out of the cold air intake going into the throttle body if there's not one connected there make 1
