That is happiest looking pupper. My sister rescued a puppy off the street in Colombo. Her name is now called Snoopy. Sri Lanka has had a rough history since the early 70's. Portuguese invaded first, their influence has integrated itself into the culture.

Thank goodness you guys asked around about the puppy before taking it. Too many people would see an "abandoned" street puppy and end up removing it from its' mother before it should be. The mom ends up suffering and still out there to produce more puppies, but asking the property owner really was the best you could do since he's likely aware of the mother dog if she's around. Also, enjoyed the info about ayurveda!

Just a few suggestions, if you have not already returned to Sri Lanka, for surfing, you may want to try ' Arugam Bay '- along the South East Coast, Polunnaruwa, Heritance Kandalama, and Ugabay Passikudah ( East coast), and Peradeniya Gardens ( Kandy) as well, Willpatu National park. You will most definitely love the beaches on the East Coast of Sri Lanka which was also hit badly in the Boxing day Tsunami 2004. I should know, as I was there when it happened. East coast is known as the land of milk and honey. Bon Voyage.

There’s two stunning hidden beaches in Mirissa called secret beach. Check it out if you have the time! Also met a dog down there we called him pupper and he followed us to our various airbnbs for a week!

In the eighties we brought back a King Charles Cavalier puppy from a hillfarm in Wales. This reminded me of that. Of course there was no documentation bringing it back from Wales. Of course this dog is your best souvenir of the trip. Good stuff

Love all your Sri Lanka videos - I was born and raised there. Just one thing you’ve missed... don’t go barefoot on the beaches because of Hookworm. It’s a problem on all tropical beaches even including Caribbean!

You have more details than others. Sri Lanka have over 5000 years old Great history called KING RAWAN period. Sigiriya also belongs that period. Mercury Technology used to flying machine called "Dadumonara" on that time. Ther is a place called "Nisala Arana Meditation center.
