Oh for the reinstatement of the 15 metre penalty. 50 metres is far too generous. It changes the complexion of the game and has won and lost matches. It leaves a sour taste when a team wins because of one. Going back umpires could award multiple 15 metre penalties and didn’t need much of a reason to do so…a bit of back chat or attitude and another 15 was awarded. 50 metres makes even less sense in the women’s game where most players would be flat out kicking that far.
