Val Riazanov is a russian martial art, systema and dl self defense expert ! He was in the KGB and russian special forces. Trust me he is a bad ass. I have gotten to train with him several times when he has been over here in the states and holy balls he is amazing at what he does. What he teaches is so simple to learn! I believe anyone can learn very easly what he is teaching! It could save your life!

Val is the reason I realized this was for real. Many systemats have a very hard time communicating idea. Thank you for dialing in the presentation. Neil is great at communicating as well.

It's so beautiful to see the essential techniques of shifting energy in time without bollocks. At the end of the day it's about shifting energy quickly and efficiently. Your style, your body posture, your attitude make it unique in both aspects: deadly and vulnerable. Shifting energy is the key. Greetings from Poland!

Give the big guy a raise, he endured a lot of pain there. I know, I was a crash test dummy once too but mine was Okinawan Kenjo (offshoot of Kenpo) being hit in demos hurts a lot, this guy is good at not telling anybody it hurts but I assure you it does. Oh, and then I became a fourth degree black in Kenjo, but that was before I became a fossil. So now, I'm a fourth degree fossil and a fifth degree dinosaur on guitar.

Val is the first person i've ever seen able to break down proper punching technique within 5 minutes. I hate when people holding pads start flopping around like they were knocked sideways from punches. No need to add dramatic effect. Regarding the punching technique he shows around the 16 minute mark it is teaching you how to whip your body. I learned from throwing thousands and thousands of punches but I could see how this would help someone learn proper torque.

I'll try to explain the systema punch to those who still don't understand. Picture a swinging morningstar flail or nunchuckus that you swing around. The power is generated through rotation of the chain links just like it is through your body joints and into the opponent. What makes the punch deadly just like the weapon is the swinging and snapping motion that starts from one end of the body and out of the fist into the opponent. Like a lion tamer cracking a whip not a baseball slugger with a baseball bat. When it hits it spreads outward like a ripple tsunami effect throughout our body almost shutting all your organs for a few seconds. It shocks your nervous system. Shuts the computer down and incapacitate you temporarily like you were tased. It is the best system if you don't want to hurt someone but just to stop them. Cops, security guards, and bouncers should be learning this as it is designed to stop an attacker in the most humane way. It isn't about doing physical damage to your opponent unless that is your intention which you can but it was designed to just take out an opponent without necessarily killing or maiming them. Good to catch enemy soldiers and to interrogate them later or to stop a shoplifter. It is not cracking their skull and snapping limps and trying to cause real permanent damage even though it could that isn't the intention in most cases.

***** Problem with that is that Systema doesn't really LOOK like fighting sometimes. It's designed to NOT be telegraphing what you're going to do- so it's not that entertaining to watch. There's a lot of things going on that are not visible. Also, it would look like someone's throwing the fight with those punches.

@SciSciToys
@SciSciToys 7 жыл бұрын
Frederick Small Taiji selfdefense applications? A good question, that I cannot answer but I'll try, they (I assume) would use the persons force against them, i.e. push when the pull, pull when they push, use softness and hardness, I think total softness in a fight won't work, or maybe it can.

his systema?... the principles came from mikhail ryabko (you can see them in a lot of videos together as well as vasiliev, talanov, wheeler, dubbelboer and so on). they are all from one group as far as i know except from the one guy doing these silly VS videos Vadim Starov and Kevin Secours splitted of and founded Combat systema later. in systema there are no techniques just possible movements...thats why it always looks different in every teacher and every moment, any demonstration. its adaptable to any situation because its not static, it flows.
@SciSciToys
@SciSciToys 7 жыл бұрын
Felix Stanfield It could be that an individual looks better and shows the techniques better than others, this I fear could damage me, the others don't seem so frightening to me, I mean in a real fight they can be beaten, not talking about demos, IF they only use what they show in their many demos, I think it is interesting indeed Systema I mean but my brain and its alarm system is what I go by, something that worries my I tend to be-aware of, the guys showing systema (not all of course) don't have realistic self defense techniques or if they do they don't show them on videos. I love Russian people, but this is not how Russian guys fight, in Russia anyway. It doesn't mean one cannot learn some interesting methods from systema.
@Angelgrinder1
@Angelgrinder1 7 жыл бұрын
how do you even know if they are realistic if you never visited a seminar and tried? ive noticed that a lot of people have a special believe system they use in order to claim if something is useful or not based on sport fighting and movies. i believe these guys because they trained soldiers in russia for a long time as chief instructor of spetznaz and ive "felt" it working. if you just take this one video above here for example which shows just to strike ballistic it really doesn't tell someone who hasn't trained systema yet nothing believe me. 80 percent of people are tense to the max and wonder that they cannot move properly and therefore cannot believe the principles working as they are shown, but they do work. heres a fact you aren't going to believe easily : you moved completely "wrong" your whole life because of unnecessary tension because you hold your breath in stressful situations. www.dailymotion.com/video/x3i9d6i_demostracion-de-systema-ruso_creation one of my favorites Calogero Fiore

This is probably the best information about the power behind so called incidental knock -out punches , sometimes seen in the ring. One of fighters is throwing his hand while being pushed back , without even trying to hit anything and - bum ! his opponent goes down like hit by a train. I , myself once just swung my arm with exactly this kind of swinging "delivery", but without any particular intension to punch strongly , and the man was thrown on his back with such an impel , that he pushed the electric kitchen stove with him . I was astonish , bewildered , for that was not what I have expected. Now , it was clearly explained . Thank you Val Riazanov .

I encourage anyone to go to one of his seminars. I have seen a man the size of a redwood get dropped like a rag doll because he lost his temper and went live. These ex-KGB guys were not taught to fight, they were taught to kill. President Putin was one and he still actively trains. This stuff is the real deal. All the systema guys I trained with are nice guys on camera. Yet, there is a look in their eyes that begs you to try them. They are by nature Alpha, extremely well trained, highly confident, and fully capable of ending your life very quickly. There is no other group that does knife work like them. I do not advocate learning by video. It is a good way to develop a sense of what you will learn before you go to train with them in person. But do not full yourself into believing you can replicate what they do just by watching it. Train slow, then train live. It helps you become accumulated with being hit and delivering power to effect the other party. Also, train from vulnerable positions. Normally criminals do not walk up and tell you they are going to attack. They wait till you are not paying attention, in bad body posture, then sucker punch you. Stay strong America.

about 20 yrs ago, i went to see about buying a punching bag at a wing chun dojo. it was supposed to b 10 yrs old, but it looked like it was hardly used. while there, the guy i was talking to demonstrated the difference btwn a right cross & a wing chun punch. the hard right cross sent me into the wall about 5 feet behind me, but didn't hurt. then he hit me w/the wing chun punch, w/seemingly very little power. i hardly moved, BUT i felt like an electric shock inside my chest, sort of like being hit in the funny bone. it was amazing. now i see why the punching bag looked so good. all the damage was on the inside. ;)

The ballistic strikes are very similar to Choi Li Fut (or Pigua Zhang) trajectories of circular punches. These techniques are extremely powerful if done properly in proper situation. I would guess that Systema has adopted the theory of these kung-fu styles somehow and refactored it for modern "mixed-arts" age.

Very interesting I'm studying Kung Fu and I've been learning the same principals of generating power or forces that is known as Internal or External Qi or Chi. The way those three gentleman punched was very external that their physicality ie their size and exaggerated movement effects the power of the punch but what Val is teaching in a very simplified way is internal power through technique notice how little movement is required, the objective is to reach a point where movement is barely noticeable which is the purpose of Internal arts like Tai Chi. Won't help you become a better fighter but will help you connect to your body and get a feel for that type of energy. Actually a lot of what he teaches here is in Chinese systems but a very modernized approach.

Stop wasting time money and you are learning bad combat habit from the goofy unrealistic kung fu , i bet a novice boxer kills a 5-10 year trained kung fu and your external chi .! ! all depends on what style kung fu u r learning some would help u more than other but trust me a boxer trained for 2 yrs will dominate a 10 yr kung fu artist,, eventually all the novice & awkward jerky slugger habits a new boxer has to replace with fundementals basic blending defense /offense after 18 months they are comfortable with the technique amature ,white belt boxing basics are mastered but they didnt start advanced class at gym yet so they dont open there self up with wide swinging or flashy pro level punches they beat u with boxing 101 ..that centerline wing chung was found inferior to hand skill by itself by bruce lee's studies. ..all the animal styles are a jkke jackie chan hong kong movie shit..some blocks they implement are good &some foul tactic kicks hits that most martisl artists, mma fighter ir boxing doesnt train for nor ever encountered...long comment short.. adopt jeet kune do (bruce lee martial art he created ) ideals take the good from any and all styles dont act like a religious zealot martial arts wise by being blindly loyal to one discipline ..at least take 1 striking art and 1 grappling art so u dont get your face broke in the street because some dim mak instructions fooled u into thinking the sensi really knocjs iver his student with out touching them 10 feet away...sorry 4 rant at u but u literally said external and internal chi like its a effective or even real proven scientific fact that chi exsist but it will also make you able to defend against a drunk at a bar when he haymakers you into unconsciousness

@@marcf9635 wow i hope u said that with sarcasm! ??? That video proved the kung fu wing chung punch centerline exclusively and blocking while attacking is bullshit ..the asian sensi in your link video believes his martial skill(combat tested& proven effective techniques) is equal to his martial art training learning bad habits that he now does out of muscle memory an instincts punching from his hip a foot or 2 away close quarters range ( where grappling ,elbows, knees are only effective options) he gets cocky and said " if a guy tries to throw a hook at me i just arm punch torque my hups and block the incoming hook all at same moment, and im blocking the hook with this low frail lead hand guard that any drunk at a bar would go right over or loop around break his jaw and knick him the fuck out...jesus i thought these russian systema on this vid are bad with wide gste swing haymaker hook they are teaching (easily seen coming and countered by any amature boxers jab &cross) ..but at least they have martial skill, a basic understanding of combating attacker at least that kung fu link u posted is mind boggling ..u know theres this thing called UFC where in 1993 started testing different styles of martial arts against another to see which is superior or some what equal , they discovered with in the 1st 10 mixed martial art fights that the jet lee kung fu monkey paw leopards foot bulshido only works in movies, and then quickly a year ir so later after ufc debuted to the world wrestlers from NCAA , and Olympics were fighting life long grand masters an black belt elites of these steven segal fight systems couldnt stop a wrestler from throwing them down, pinning an holding the red belt warrior monks against their will until they ground an pounded them unconscious or choking them making them tap or nap ..all that said how do u still choose to study 5th rates martial art styles proved ineffective many of times in early 90s u have options for techniques that work arts that are credible and ufc is a 4 billion dollar brand mma schools every country world wide .. u still think this shit russian systema is what real killer mma fighters use or special ops take serious or wing chung hands down hip punches would save u in a crowed bar or a mugger attacking u from behind and most likely has a weapon..but you'll just swipe the gun away and torque ya hips summon QI (chi) internally sure

@@oksanagilroy1950 your understanding of Chinese martial arts and chi in particular is wrong from the ground up. What he is teaching these guys is exactly the same thing that is taught in the internal arts. The difference is this: we are alive now in the present. The masters that started teaching martial arts thousands of years ago and all the way up to the cultural revolution had to do so in a highly disguised manner. Had they taught it out in the open, they would have been hunted down and murdered. Internal martial arts drill into your conscious and subconscious mind along with muscle memory the proper linking of multiple parts of the body into one cohesive movement that not only delivers but amplifies force and power. You also shouldn't discount the fact that strongest human punch ever recorded cam from one of the monks you deem worthless. He weighs about 140lbs and doesn't have to pull back to deliver that damage. In fact, his fist was touching the target through the entire measurement of force. And btw, ass, we are Buddhist and continue practicing the exact same forms and movements taught thousands of years ago because we aren't doing martial arts to hurt people. We do it to cultivate inner peace and are in fact pacifists. Stop regurgitating second and third hand nonsense you heard some ignoramus spout and do the footwork to learn the knowledge for yourself.

Impressed. Explained clearly by Val. Clearly Systema works. The creator brought together effective aspects of a few martial arts. Like the combat aspects of Tai Chi. But applied it to real life combat. Which is why System is used by Russian military. I believe to this day? Because it WORKS!! Funny how other arts that try to market themselves as being "practical" really aren't proven (e.g. JKD, Kenpo...)...in life/death situations (military on a mission or fighting a war). Which is the ultimate proving ground. On battle ground when soldiers are out of bullets. And must rely on empty hand combat.

this is so similar in many ways to my years in the bujinkan. hidden kicks. kicking waist down only. usig body movement more than just power for striking. dakentaijutsu. also the grabbing skin. we do that alot. attacking muscles and tissues. head strikes. striking the back. the way the kicks break balance. very very similar concepts to what i have learned in samurai bujutsu.

Poor old Kyle, he looked so nervous by the end! I'm sure he realised the value of these hits and the Instructer was relatively gentle compared to some vicious masters I've seen. When Val said the sternum is a 'little place that digest your food,' I thought he meant the spleen, but then he mentioned the spleen so I guess he meant solar plexus which is a major nerve centre under the sternum (breastbone) that I've seen targeted, struck and destroy multiple trained boxing professionals. And that is with gloves on.

Exactly. This is a fucking outstanding video. The key is not just being able to fight, but also bravery. When you are weak, the solution is so strenghten up. Dont be afraid and act strong, youll only deceiver yourself in the long term.

Yeah, I've seen and heard about "Systema" and it actually they scientifically analized combat and made the most of it , it's almost like a science and would take a long time a puting your mind in to understanding to achieve something with it.It comes from the russian words (in latin/english letters) -"Systema Boya" which translates in to Combat system in literal or anatomy of combat and such -is it's meaning and such
