Looking good, I love when a project starts looking like a car again .

Thanks. When I'm done fitting everything together, I have to take it all apart again to do the body work. It takes so much time, I was not expecting it to be this big of a project. covid-19 really took me back. I was not able to get parts. I have been waiting a year for my motor

i bought OER fenders and fender extensions and a OER valance panel for my 1968 firebird the turn signal housing and lens would not fit! a 1/4 inch to small was not going to spend a month refabricating a new part bought the same parts from AMD and they fit perfect it still is a ratchet strap job but its done. i cant even sell the OER panels to anyone because they wont work lesson learned AMD only like all of the rest of my replacement panels good video Sr.

Hi, I had some bad panels as well. My doors for the GTO were horrible. I cut up the new doors and patched my old doors. The cowl panel I bought from eBay years ago was horrible to. I should have stuck with Original Parts Group. When I bought it from eBay. All the holes were too big. it didn't fit my plastic vent covers for the wiper blade area. Thank you for watching. All the best.

Appreciate the video’s, very nice job! Would you happen to have a video on the core support replacement? I’m trying to figure out the core support bushing install. I’m thinking my male/female bushing are swapped. Thanks

Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I am using polyurethane bushings for my core supports. I had to lift them up a 1/4" I couldn't get my front end to line up properly. I don't recall what video that was. I think it was lining up my fenders. if I find the video, I will send it to you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonaeZucpc-lkNk

the fine threaded bolt goes at the top of the center bracket and threads into the core support . goes in pointing to the firewall. There should be a welded nut inside the core support. Hope this helps
@classicrewind2715 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the information. For some reason I think that was of course threaded Bolt . There was one of those u-bolt clips that the bolt went to. I will check again, thank you so much. All the best

If you have not thrown out valance I would like to buy it from you. I am having difficulty in obtaining one for my 70 Lemans. I would like to see how I could modify it to work before buying a new one. Very good work you have done to that car.
@classicrewind27152 жыл бұрын
Where do you live? I don't think the 70 LeMans Valance panel is the same as the 70 GTO. There's one on eBay for a GTO. I would do some research to see if they're the same. You will spend more time modifying the 68 valance panel because of the lights on the side they're not on the face. Let me know all the best.
@andresperez80992 жыл бұрын
I live in the same town you bought your GTO from in NJ. Your car was for sale in 2016 as a roller with a 389 on Craigslist. Unfortunately the 70 Gto valance won’t work because the fenders around the bumper area are recessed on the Lemans

Hi. I'm working in Old Bridge tomorrow. Right off of Route 9. if you like I could swing by and take a look at your car after work.

Hi Wayne. I hope you're doing well, thank you for the kind words. I'm going to make sure I get everything fitting properly then doing my body work. Then taking it apart again to paint firewall, jams, xcetera. Painting everything and then assembling it. All the best

I like what you’re doing on that GTO but according to the Manuel and according to AMK fasteners it’s a course threaded bolt that goes into a cage nut
@classicrewind27156 ай бұрын
There are two types of bolts. I'm probably not explaining it correctly. There's five bolts that go to the inner Fender to the fender that screw into plastic clips. Then there are the bolts that hold the fender to the valance panel to the inner fender. Those are different. They're all coarse threads. But one is more coarse. The coarser of the two, if that's even a word. lol. Goes to the inner fender to fender with the plastic clips.

Hello again , I am having a problem figuring out what’s up or down or how to connect the bracket that holds the inner fender to the radiator core support, anyway you can clarify that ,, diagrams ?
@classicrewind27156 ай бұрын
What year GTO do you have? The only brackets. There about 2" long and bent slightly. They only go on a 68 and 69 lower radiator core to Outer fender. Are those the brackets that you're talking about?

@classicrewind27156 ай бұрын
Yes. there is a little piece of metal about 2 inches by inch and a half with two holes in it very simple. (Original Parts Group.) - Fender brackets 1968-69 GTO front lower- Search that term it'll pop up
@mahers51256 ай бұрын
I think you have to use the other nuts when it comes to the front valence
@classicrewind27156 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting. There's two different types of nuts. One has a coarse thread, one has a fine thread. The fine thread goes into a cage nut . The coarse thread goes into a plastic clip. All the best.

Yes I have them I’m asking about how to place them the video seems a little dark , maybe I’ll put it on the wide screen
@classicrewind27156 ай бұрын
They fit a certain way or else it'll bind the fender. You want to make sure it's placed where there's less stress when you bolt it together. I think they both have the same angle on them so it's just making sure it fits properly. Sorry I didn't see this message till late.
