Valencia High School - 1997 Graduation

Valencia High School in Santa Clarita, California was built in 1994. When it opened, it contained only freshmen and sophomores. The sophomores had attended another high school the year before while the freshmen started their journey at Valencia. The class of 1997 was the school's first graduating class. The class of 1998 the first first group to complete all four years at the school. This video is from Valencia High School's second graduation ceremony. June 17, 1997

There’s such a sadness from 1:20:00 after they throw their hats (and the Breakfast Club music gives it more nostalgia). All these kids are like 40 years old now ...most likely married, with careers and homes of their own. Here it’s just pure innocence and they’re all off to college.
