You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

Subbed for more HF, best a cappella group around in my opinion. Loved your reaction and your enthusiasm. Yes, these guys are just so extra special. They're so versatile, it's hard to describe. You'll just have to find out yourself. BTW the bass is Tim Foust and considered a basso profundo, but you'll find out later how his entire range includes five octaves. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer, but I think of him as more of a vocal percussionist. He's from another galaxy far, far away. Austin is the high tenor, Rob (beard and glasses) is lead tenor, and Adam Chance AKA "Chance" is a baritone/bass, and he was doing the sound in the beginning that was running throughout in the background, which is a mouth harp. Enjoy your journey! For something showing their fun side, try the "Butts Medley" or "Country Fried Pop Medley."

The lead singer is Austin Brown, tenor; second lead is Rob Lundquist, tenor; bass singer is Tim Foust (who has a 5 octave range); the one doing the mouth harp is Adam Chance, known as Chance; and the beatboxer extraordinaire is Adam Rupp. All four singers can take lead according to the song and there are clips of Adam Rupp performing his drum solo over the years. I would recommend his drum solo from 2015 as a starter.

In answer to your question....no it's not like PTX. Home Free makes ALL other a cappella groups look like amateurs. They take every cover song they do to the next level and their originals are spectacular. They have the most phenomenal beatboxer in the business who has taught each of them to do some beatboxing and has a naturally beautiful voice that blends perfectly with the others. Each of them are phenomenally talented, extremely humble, exceptionally caring of their fans and fantastically funny. I'll check back and if you've continued down the HF rabbit hole (it's a fun and fantastic place to explore) I'll happily subscribe. Great reaction!

Welcome Valencia, we are the "HomeFries". To get to know the guys you will need three time periods...before 2018, during COVID19 "lockdown", current time period. Before 2018 Austin had a baby face and shoulder length hair. He sings high tenor, Rob -full black beard & glasses also tenor, shoulder length dark hair & deep voice is Tim. He has a 5 octave range from subharmonic bass all the way up to falsetto cowboy hat or baseball cap is Chris Rupp. He and his brother Adam founded the group early 2011. Adam is the Beatbox. He will make sounds that you would never believe possible, blonde hair, wears a bandana or a ponytail when he grows his hair out. In 2018 Chris left with the full love and respect of the rest of the guys to follow other projects. This is when Adam Chance ( known to us as Chance) comes in sings Baritone wears a backwards baseball cap, sometimes has glasses, has a 4 octave range from Bass to tenor. He arrived just before "Lockdown". During Lockdown the guys still continued to produce about 2 videos a month to keep us all from losing our minds and this was possible because as soon as they heard Quarantine, they all had recording equipment delivered to each of their houses. They have a full CD titled "The sounds of Lockdown " They were prolific in recording and very creative in managing making music together but still being in Quarantine. This is when Tim reveals that he is prematurely gray and he cuts his hair! This brings us to the guys we know and love today.Tim Foust, dark hair with a gray streak in the part, Austin Brown long curly hair often worn up in a bun. Adam Rupp, no change still in a bandana, shoulder length blonde hair. Chance, fuzz on the sides, long dark hair on top in a bun or ponytail. You are now caught up with who everyone is. Enjoy the Rabbit Hole, it is deep and has many side holes to run off in!

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and their latest: Stargazer Lilies trilogy, Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Tim, the bass', opening line wasn't deep for a bass... it was low in the baritone range but thick like a bass with his voice doing it. This is one of Tim's sweet spots, where he is relaxed and able to give great vocal articulation and resonance.

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We'll save you a chair. You're about to be buried in Home Fries. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a world-class vocal percussionist and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos. For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. For Chance's smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Coover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob's soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. For Austin's soaring power tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You'll need smelling salts after that one. Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother). And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times now before I quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

Home Free can sing any genre of music. They have no one lead singer. The person who leads is the one whose voice is the best for the song. Austin Brown was the lead singer in this song. He is a high tenor. He can sing much higher than this. Austin can also sing with and without the accent. Austin is originally from south Georgia. Tim Foust is the bass and he can sing even lower. Actually Tim can also sing tenor, baritone, and bass. He has a five octave range. He is from southeast Texas. Rob Lundquist is the guy with the beard and glasses. He is the lead tenor. Rob has had operatic training. His teachers at the University of Minnesota wanted him to become an opera singer, but Rob chose not to pursue that career path. He recently did the aria Nessum Dorma with Austin. Austin had persuaded Rob to perform the song. The guy doing the mouth harp sound on the left on the back row is Adam Chance. He is called Chance.. He wasn't featured so much in this song, but he does lead in other songs He recently wrote the sea shanty Skull and Bones for Ubisoft' for their soon be released game Skull Bones. Chance loves sea shanties snd persuaded the guys to do a sea shanty video This was during the lockdown when sea shanty were popular. They did Sea Shanty Medley which was seen by Ubisoft. The beat boxer is Adam Rupp. Adam is also a tenor but he rarely sings. Adam, his older brother Chris, and Adam's best friend Matt Atwood founded Home Free in 2001 in Minnesota. Adam and Matt were teenagers. Through the years Home Free had numerous members until this particular group. Austin replaced Matt who retired from a musical career to join his family's business and to start a family. Chance replaced Chris when he resigned to do individual projects. The nice thing about Home Free is that are no egos, just really nice guys who love music and their fans. Former members of the group are like an extended family. Also Home Free had close connections and relationships with other acapella groups and other singers. They do individual projects and cooperate with other musicians. Plus they don't take themselves too seriously and do humorous songs with great singing. They are just humble down to earth guys

Home Free is amazing! If you want to hear more of Tim's bass voice you should listen to their cover of Elvira. If you want to listen to another really amazing a cappella group with an extremely low bass voice I recommend Voiceplay. Their cover of the Oogie Boogie Song from Nightmare Before Christmas has a really low bass part that is just absolutely amazing. I recommend watching with the subtitles on for that song as they are pretty funny at the end :)

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! Like Pentatonix...but not. They are similar in that they are both a cappella, but they have very different styles. Looking forward to more reactions to them.

Subbing for more Home Free. Good reaction! I see that others have filled you in on each member. So, welcome to this deep rabbit hole! BTW, each a capella group has their own distinct personality. (Home Free, Voice Play, Pentatonics, The Bass Gang, etc) It's really a personal preference. I prefer Home Free. Let's just enjoy the awesome music!

Just subscribed hoping for more Home Free. Home Free reactions = more subscribers. Home Free fans are known as Home Fries. Older videos have Adam Rupp’s brother, Chris, instead of Adam Chance. How Great Thou Art is another Home Free video you will enjoy.

If you want some bass singing WAY lower than this, try Geoff Castellucci singing the Beatles "Blackbird". He sings all the harmonies, and can go high, too, but his low end is lower than anyone else alive. It's creepy how low he goes!

Tim Foust the bass with his low range has really gone low. Adam Rupp the beatboxer or the sound machine can make all kinds of sounds and is considered the best beatboxer. The first singer is Austin Brown high tenor and second singer Rob Linquist is regular tenor. They sing all types of songs which include covers and originals. They are very addictive and us fans are called Home Fries.

Go down the rabbit hole and pick up a lot of Home Fries as new subs. But wait till you know them before doing Mayday. You might start with Boys To Men cover of End Of The Road or My Church then The Butts Medley

this isn't a rabbit hole it's a endless black hole that takes on on a journey of pop to rap to blues to gospel i would say start off with some older song and then work up to some new as one member has changed from the start of group. go they do it all BUT DO NOT DO MAYDAY!!!! wait till you know each of them like 12 to 15 songs or more in then do Mayday

Fabulous! My HF faves are: x Man of Constant Sorrow / Ring of Fire (w/ Avi Kaplan) / American Pie (w/ Don McLean) / God Bless the USA (w/ Lee Greenwood & US Air Force band) / Sea Shanty Medley / Butts Remix (April Fool's Day 2015 release) / Elvira (w/ The Oak Ridge Boys) In Austin Brown's (tenor no glasses) YT channel, he and Rob Lundquist (bearded tenor) have a go at singing 'Nessun Dorma' kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5WldoGknLN3ntU Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has about 7-8 minute solo video from a live concert that is pretty amazing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5LRfIqCisZ3psk

I know why you do it, but your sound quality is ... regrettable. Knowing the song, I can kind of abridge it, mentally. Your reaction as such is - in my universe - ok to the point of commenting (really, it is why I do a comment). Your replay sound quality is why I don't subscribe. In that vein: good luck with your channel, seems you got a good thing going on there! I'll defo catch and probably comment on more stuff from you.
