This etude is harder than it appears to be. The entire melody is switched back and forth between both the left and right hands and she plays it seamlessly.

@@ellalaugzchannel7792Yep it is one of those pieces which sounds way easier than it is. But believe me, Concert etüde nr.3 is extremely hard. The german music-publisher Henle Verlag has given this the same difficulty rating as Ballade Nr.1 of Chopin. Un Sospiro is no joke, and anybody claiming that this is an easy piece, has either never played it, or they don’t play it correctly. Some pieces are technically challenging, and other pieces are musical challenging. Un Sospiro is hard on technically level, but to pull it of as a convincing musical performance is extremely hard.

Had not heard the Hamlin version when I posted this a couple years ago, but will have to admit his is without a doubt better. No lag or slowing down when the dual notes are played left hand crossing over the right hand. I'm back at it again too with Liebestraume, Consolations No.3 in D flat, a few Chopin preludes, two Beethoven sonatas along with a little of Debussy are giving me the most satisfaction in my later years even though it'll probably not be the quality that it once was....too many years passed! Many nights listening, with headphones on glistening to Valentina's virtuosity and others. Thank you God for giving 🎹 to the world!
