An old Lamborghini is not a "Vette". Owner's taking forever to shift their Miura gear boxes? They're not Muncie M22's. Not only do the synchros go away with use, but on the early examples, the synchro rings are smooth and not textured like later production, thus even more time is needed for the synchronization. This car has a rebuilt trans and it sounds to me that the exhaust is not the original Anza... something here sounds even louder. We do agree one thing: that Valentino is The Man... and also a gentleman.

Also, another clue about this particular Miura, is that the steering wheel is also not standard production.

@@gregorydahlen2103 exactly! The vast majority of people out there (and virtually all of the people who feel compelled to negatively-comment) have zero knowledge about these cars. Can I shift my Miura quickly? Yes, fairly.. if I want to be mechanically abusive. When I want to bang-shift a car, I take out a different ride.

I like the double clutching on the downshifts. I don't know if that's required in Miuras, I've never even seen one outside media, but the man has some mechanical sympathy. Unsurprising , given his background.

It's a very good example of using gear ratios to get maximum efficiency. He blips the throttle to increase the engine speed, changes down and then immediately depresses the clutch making the transition smooth and also maintaining the engine high on the power and torque curves. Just as he once said:"the car talks to the driver, the driver has to understand the car"

Some owners ordered them with the 'Jota' type exposed fuel fillers. Note it also has a smaller non-standard steering wheel and the additional timing clocks mounted on the centre console

Unfortunately, the Federal Exhaust Gas Fun Ban Ordinance (BABVVO) and Transport Tourism Emission Restriction Federal Ordinance (TEBBVO) will soon ban driving combustion engines in public outside of proven commuter trips and transport trips, because then exhaust gas fun WILL be a traffic offense!!!!!! Furthermore, a vehicle tax of 30,000 euros for exhaust gas-emitting combustion engines was threatened by EU !!!!!!
