6:17 I also learned from a therapist that everyone has a right to feel anger, disappointment, etc. so instead of feeling punished or belittled, it’s good to acknowledge the fact that they can have those feelings, and try to understand their point of view. Don’t take everything people say personally. This advice helped me with relationships with people. I hope it can help others too.

I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I’ve had to overhaul how I approach taking care of my brain by focusing on 3 things - (journaling) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my journaling habit, workouts and studying - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on YT. And part of that is wanting sucess from come from taking care of myself rather than destroying myself when I worked a corporate job. I was a zombie for 2 years after seriously burning out in 2019, so depressed - feeling like those years are just gone - but all the work ive been putting into myself has made for better, more authentic relationships.

Amen to that. I love the term "mediocre consistency" it is a much more manageable goal, especially after coming out of a dark time where you almost became destroyed, like you said. I've recently gone through a similar thing and I'm getting there :)

I am glad you went for a walk and to the forest while you said you were having cramps. It is important to stretch or do yoga when you have a cycle. Also, i have lived in rooms without air conditioning and I regulated the room by blacking out the sun in the morning and at sundown I let the breeze come in with all the windows open. I dont know if that would work for you as you need natural light . Have you thought of freezing a empty plastic milk container and setting it near the breeze of the fan so it can blow cool air? i like that fan. please remember to put a tray under the container if your going to try it. Much Love

You are absolutely correct when I was surrounded by people who I thought were my closest friends I was a totally different person but I was always aware that I was not acting like myself when I distanced myself from them I started being more confident and comfortable with who I am. some would say that not having friends is sad but I disagree if you are going through the same thing don't feel sad take the time to get to know yourself build a healthy mindset and lifestyle. when the time is right and the people are right they will stick around.

Thank you, Valerie! I want you to know about a particular way that you have helped me. One of my passions in life is writing, but I’ve always struggled with writing at home, because it felt kind of lonely. So, I always went to coffee houses to write, in order to be around people. But, watching you peacefully paint in solitude has had a vicarious effect on me. Instead of feeling as though I’m missing something when I’m alone, I now see my solitude as a quiet blessing. Loneliness has been replaced with a sense of peace. And, with that peace comes inspiration and motivation. Even joy sometimes. So, thank you for modeling contentment within solitude. It’s an entirely different (and so much better) way of perceiving the very same thing! I still have my friends, but I don’t feel a need to depend on them. Thank you for making a difference in the world, Valerie! You’ve been a blessing to me! 😊

"I can still love the sun and the rain, even though using an umbrella and sitting in the shade. All it means is, that I also love umbrellas and shade. But most of all I have to love myself. Without self love, we keep seeking love from the outside, and it is never to be found there. It is within. That love is unconditional and without fear. Everything outside of you will start reflecting it, once applied. " Christina. 😊 💖 🌻 🐞

You call me into the intentional solitude of my deepest sanctuary to rediscover what the child within me would like to create and explore by noticing the particular little beauties around you and savouring life and the process of making. With you I am finding my voice and desire to create again. I hope you continue to make these videos, they are the food for so many souls. There are always perspectives, light and shadow and a safe framework. And in between one finds this wide, bright space where one can feel free to be themselves. Hello Valerie, your videos are so calming and inspiring and I returned to painting after years of not holding a brush all thanks to you. My best friend of 15 years and I love to paint and draw since we were kids, and we used to draw during all of our classes as teenagers lol. Now more than a decade later, we live in different countries and we have our own lives and careers but we are still just as close and still remember those days. I sent her a link to your channel because you actually look so much like her and she also now lives in Germany hahahaha. She is now writing a novel which has been in her head since we were kids but now the storyline has grown and matured as she did. She is painting her own characters. And I am now painting to decorate my home. And I am so thankful to you because you have sparked that joy in me and in return I have passed it to my best friend. Aside from all the artistic inspiration you have given us, I really love the things you talk about during your videos. I think you're few years younger than me, but I truly admire your maturity and sense of self and determination and overall knowledge. Please do keep sharing 🙏 God bless you and I do hope that if you ever visit New York, you would do a meet and greet with your viewers here cuz we would all love to meet you :)

When you said " I am my true self when Im not trying to impress someone" I understood, why I don't like loud companies. Almoat my entire life, I have one way or another tried to please people, and when I am afraid of them being disappointed in me, I withdraw away. But from now on, I'll try to be my own self, I belive I'll find the people that can bring out the best in me and not make me feel, outcasted. Also this time I got good results for my first test so I'm very happy !! The jungle walk looked so fun and cozy. The heat is out of the world, so make sure to keep yourself hydrated and cool, here in my country, we drink warm tea. It helps a lot, remember your sunscreen and take care ^^

This video was AWESOME, loved the last outfit by the way, very colorful. Coming from a Hawaiian culture, we're pretty dependant on each other. We used to grow food for our tribe, house eachother, we were a groupist society. Now we pretty much are the opposite but same at the same time which means we're very accepting and welcoming. Having moved to Virginia I experience a near completely different culture, not very welcoming. Because of this I learned to depend on trying to read people like Sherlock Holmes almost. I channel this into my art through symbols and colors, I even add a few references here and there, the kind of stuff my ancestors did with tattoos and carvings. It's a weird form of dependency but I love it. It allows me to peel back the curtains and try to understand people on a deeper in level. Also, forgot to mention but I love this video and the artwork is fantastic. I hope one day to see your work in galary and wouldn't mind hanging one on my wall.

Hi Valerie, I am from India. I am a housewife and a beginner artist also, but I was not sure if I could be an artist or not. But then I found you and I was amazed by your thoughts and visions. It's make me so strong mentally. I am suffering from hypertension and anxiety. And I am suffering from continuous sleep paralysis. Your videos are so soothing for me. I am now enjoying my art Journey. Whenever I feel exhausted, I turned to you and your positivity. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful journey. It's the first time I don't envy of any artist. But you became my inspiration and best friend too. I am now in my 40s. And started my art journey from last 6 months. Keep creating beautiful contents like this. This is so much helpful ❤️ Much Love 💕 Greetings 🥰

Yes, this video got me surprised because you touched in a subject regarding mental health and I just listened and never want to have anything to interrupt me and how sometimes we had to build social life with people around us, even when you spoke of your relation with family, exactly how I could say I have experienced too and I was touched because you have given me a talk I needed and thank you, this video was worth recording and love it when you embrace yourself and your activities because those things matter in every vlog I am always happy for your energy is great, you could meet great because you can admit to yourself before anybody and that really makes it inspiring a lot... God bless your kind soul.

there are so many other art channels that have a similar vibe. but you have something extra special, maybe it's the way you share yourself and your deep thoughts that I can relate to or maybe its the magical way you exist and how that translates into your art. I am very thankful for your videos, it makes me feel comfy and less alone. Thank you .

Beautiful soul! The reflection of beauty is a mere mirror. Loving how candid you are and your thoughts as you ponder life. Its refreshing to know there are true artisans out there diving deep into the waters of the mystery of the expansive thing we call life. You do this every day, so do I. I play with colors and Im also a theatre artist where I use emotions as my paint. Im grateful for artists, grateful for souls like yours who drink life in deeply inside the tiny things. Big hugs from my heart to yours . love from Hawaii. - eve

Hey Valerie, I can't begin to say how inspired I am. I feel like the most beautiful people are the ones who are hardly seen... I've had difficulty recovering from a past relationship, but you have reminded me to forgive and accept it 💚 I can't begin to say how grateful I am for you, because I know that you've helped other's more than you'd think nor believe. Germany is looking so beautiful; a lot of my family's from Germany that I've never met, and I've always wanted to go being an Australian. I love that painting so much; it was meant to be for you to take that photo at the right time, and to make it even better in your beautiful way. I'd feel honored to have that painting as my own. 💚You are such a beautiful artist, with such creativity. You remind me of my passed mother, who was kind and was also an artist in her own way 💚thank you for everything Valerie

I've been looking forward to Valerie's next video for some time. After a hard week at work I chose to watch it with my coffee treat on late Saturday morning. I always gain insightful ways of thinking and feel good vibes by following this channel. I'm also interested in architecture painting at the moment and so that was a bonus! Thank you, Valerie!
