one for all,all for one,the trojka are the three musketiers on ice,i adore the strategic and systematicly build and planed icehockey strategic moves from the sovjet micro militery team on ice,they are real S.P.E.Z.N.A.S on ice,officers and kaptens and majors,the general tichonov and others are looking how there strategic works,and it works!when i use sovjet strategic in icehockey,the other players are helpless and frustrated,i make them look helplessthanks to the russians for such an education

oh come on eric,i love the penguins too,but enough already,lemieux was better than gretzky,but not better than orr,the trouble with many penguin fans is they have seen a lot of lemieux,but most of them because there young enough have never seen orr play,or they rarely saw him play,especially before he suffered those devastating injuries.if they saw orr play,more that just in some rare highlights,thier jaws would drop open,just like all of us who saw him play...

hanksnow2 to say bobby couldn't carry valeries skates makes me think either your hockey knowledge inst what you think it is,or your completly out of your mind.valerie was a great,great,hockey player.probably second only to orr.but bobby was the greatest hockey player of all time.everybody else comes behind him.but valerie was very close to bobby,and greater than wayne g,or mario,or gordie...

kharlamov ,playes icehockey like there trained in moskau,take the puck so far as possible if you can score,if you cant score send the puck to the player who can keep the puck and give him to the player to score,this tactic is very efficient and simple but good,no komplikations,why change something when it is perfect?this is real ''rambo''playing one goes thru the whole defense and scores,if that chance exist why giving the puck away to other players,? we play to win ,we score to win,one for all,

ivan Hlinka!!!! the name finally came to me.....a legend from Czeckoslovakia.... played late in his career with Vancouver...would have been awesome to see him in the NHL in his prime...i believe he Coached Czech Republic to the Gold in Nagano, and recently died in a car accident..... or maybe that was U.S. Coach Herb Brooks who died in a car accident....hope i'm not getting my stories confused.

@alex081969 ya, would of loved to see him in the NHL.... so glad the NHL has the best players from all over the world now......we can only talk about Kharlamov, petrov and Tretiak as "what ifs" ....... there's also a Czech player that is legendary, i forget his name, he died a few years back, i think from a car accident....he played late in his career with Vancouver.....but they say he's one of the best ever... sorry, can't remember his name...Ivan something... help me out people,lol...

@vene777 Bobby Orr? How bout Orr, Gilbert Perreault, bobby hull, Gerry Cheevers, Guy Lafleur, Marcel dionne and others that couldn't play because of WHA or that they wanted to train for NHL season like Perreault. Wouldn't have been as close, also Dryden played shitty..but that's no excuse, great tourney, but 87 Canada cup was premiere -3 games all 6-5....Gretzky & Lemieux on the same line!!! Doesn't get any better.

You know both of them never played against each other, but I would place my bets on Orr if that happened, not because he's a Canadian...Why? Cause he had more speed and can recover from his mistakes alot more quicker than the Russians, the game between them in the 76 Canada Cup proves that, Canada won that game by a score of 4-1, Orr didn't get a point and yet was chosen the games first star, not because of his fame, but what he did that mattered.

@hanksnow2 i will do that. have you seen that famous New Years Eve game in the old Montreal Forum.....Habs versus Red Army....they tied i think 5-5...they say it's one of the best games of all-time....i'm sure it's on KZbin! might be 1976??? can't quite remember.....

Orr had two bad knees almost his whole career and still played. Kharlamov missed game 7, but played game 8. But they way Orr played, you could swear that he was a forward, even with two bad legs. Kharlamov did play a bit of "D" in the summit series, even Foster Hewiet pointed it out in the broadcasts.

if the red army played in the nhl from 1964 -1974 they would have won many stanley cups,and honest nhl executives know it,and they sweat bullets just thinking about it...this team was the real big red machine,not the cinncinati reds...

@hanksnow2 What's yur opinion on the miracle on ice? Did the Americans get favoured when it comes to penalties? or was that legit? IMO Tretiak had an off game, and Tikonov never pulled the goalie (at the end) like we do in N. America.

It's Vsevolod Bobrov. Google it. There is a Wiki entry. This guy played both soccer and hockey in the olympics. In hockey he scored like 2 goals a game throughout his career.

@hanksnow2 yur right it was 3-3. do you watch entire games looking for penalties or something? to say that Russians get called way more than Canadians is not true. i don't have the stats but some people say Canada has always been discrimintated against in international play. how can you say they were better? they never played best against best until the 72 Summit Series. The Red Army were men playing boys at the Olympics.
