We call it the Maximi when in 7.62 here in Australia. Good weapon. Much lighter than the MAG58. It is mostly used by the Commando and SASR units here when it was first deployed but it is getting more widespread use.

Excellent weapon review. I carried a Minimi back in the 80s, it’s ok in 5.56. Not great, but ok. I totally understand why your MG Gunners were swapping them out for MAG58s, though. Firing 7.62 in sustained fire, I’d take a heavier weapon any day, as it soaks up more recoil just through inertia, plus the greater durability. Please up the good work SLAVA UKRAINE!

They are night capable because of thermals, especially in defense, for offensive actions there sf have the same capability like vestern units, not In terms of skill, but in terms of equipment. I want to make little nightvision mini series, since I bitch about lack of it all the time, to give viewers a perspective on it

Great video! My buddy has a funny story from his time in Iraq about blowing out a 7.62 suppressor that they had taken off a DMR and put on an m240... They obviously copped a lot of shit over that one lol. Clearly, the one they took off the DMR was designed for DMR use, not LMG use. Do you have any info on how these suppressors perform in an extended engagement and what guys think of them? Also, do you have any experience/opinion on the belt boxes from the Ukrainian company Graft that Armours Bench did a video about?

I wish US could send you some of the new XM250 machineguns! (and a bunch of ammo of course) It's about *6kg* instead of Maximi's 8,5kg and still fires the new .277 Fury cartridge (like a .308, slightly lighter at 135gr, same velocity) Ammo is lighter. Its too light for the calibre , GPMG/MAG58 is much better , you can't have your cake and eat it , have heard units using it and going back to the MAG58 .
