H-Delay is a bit underrated, great sounding delay and very easy to use but not very light on CPU. I don't like the Valhalla Ping Pong implementation, it sounded always weird (after Sean changed something with the feedback implementation some times ago). Echoboy or Echoboy Jr. is still the king. The only competitor is ReplikaXT.

Yeah H-Delay is so simple and works every time. I only dislike the ''analog'' knob, it's way too noisey to be any good. So i always turn that one down .

I own the H-Delay, Echoboy, and Valhalla delay. The echoboy is great, but the valhalla is definitely my go to delay.

I don’t use the h delay. I use Valhalla and the stock fl one. I want the fabfilter one but as I gained more experience I find myself using less paid plugins but still have a lot of them

d16 make some of my favorite delays: Repeater, Tekturon for multitap, and their collab with Slate, Sigmund. So much good.

Repeater is really nice to use indeed. Use that one a lot when I used the slate bundle a few moons back. I also like their satuartion bitcrusher stuff. This video was more for the more popular ones out there and these 4 pop up a lot.

for me the Echoboy is the best, whilst its not as good as Valhalla for pitch shifting delays it is superior with its rhythmic delays. The Dubstation has a bug whereby going from a DAW sync'ed value i.e 8th note or 16th back to the milliseconds equivalent is not at the exact value in milliseconds. The Waves lacks dual delay functionality, shame as its a good delay

Hey Nick. Spot on. Unfortunately the Echoboy is at least 100 euros more than the rest, and it needs some updating. Gets hard to look at on my screensize, it will be tiny on 4k screens. Soundtoys arent updating often for some reason. Most of the time i dont need 2 tap delays, and the pingpong does the trick in the H-delay. It's great to use as send fx with a reverb behind it. Nicely widens the stereo image. Echoboy is my go to if i want to get intricate delays for more sound design type of things.

@@audiotoolshed here's a tip to try with Echoboy or any delay that has 2 delays, set the delay to sync to the DAW tempo and set one to straight 8th note and the other to a dotted 8th. I use this on vocals and it gives more interest than just one delay by itself. Hopefully soundtoys will update all their GUIs to be resizeable as a lot of manufacturers are doing

Yes, that works well. Have seperate timings on bith sides is nice. A difference between left and right more then about 20 ms will give an audible seperation. Careful with how much feedback you use then.

Tnere is delay everywhere already. But echoboy i liked. There is also the EXTENSIVE Deelay, with all possible options, only tap missing , fuck

I can only say that in the case of H-Delay I personally grab that one first. It just works excellent and for 95% of cases where I need a delaym it is perfect. because its so straightwords to use.
