This is the perfect tutorial. I like how you showed the foundation first, then you showed yourself building it. Same with the framing and the roof. Show then tell, that's really helpful. It allows the person following along to get right into contrcuction. For example, when you show the foundation layout it was easy for me to use that one segment of the vid to get started and layout everything. Plus the takeaways, or lessons learned are the best indicator of a well done tutorial. Like and subbed.

Definitely going to have to make this one to go with the matching longhouse I already set up, equipped with some personal touches. The ground I had was NOT flat and almost too small to fit it, so I shoved the porches out into these little covered structures, one of them on stilts facing the sea and the other buried into a hill, more of a patio. A big step up from my original timber yurt lol! Helped me get a lot more confident with building, I'm now carving out a basement underneath it but my little community of friends may appreciate a better looking smithy.

This'll probably get buried but if you remove snap points you can place a roof on top of a roof to create a small overhang rather than a full size one. It looks very nice aesthetically as the thatch hides itself and after you have done the first one you can snap to the roof that you layered on it to get a uniform overhang. Another small thing you can do without snap points is take the wooden torches and place them on the half wall high windows to make a wooden grill for the window, you'll have to wait a few days for it to burn out but after that it looks great.
@ThePilgrimzProject3 жыл бұрын

I like this build! It's modular so it leaves room for expansion or tweaking. What I like is that you make a "loot room" at the entrance, however I would change the hight with a half wall so I could stack chests 2 high. What I dislike is the placement of your fermentors and the fact the build lacks a cooking station / campfire. Also I find the dragon adornments ugly, but that's just a personal preferance. I would expend towards the see making a docking place for the boat also. For the rest it's a great build!

Hey Pilgrim. Luv Your vids. The long house one is very impressive ! Just wanted to point, just if You missed minor thing, when setting up high structures. If You noticed, any wooden block that touches ground, or rock block is blue, that means it is "foundation" block. More "blocks" is between foundation one, and last, the less stability last one will have. So basically best would be construct as simple "frames" as You can. Nothing that would IRL work as support beam etc works in Valheim, unless it have best connection to the ground. : )
