My go to plane is the 1.3 Valiant great plane so getting the 10 CC version seems like a no brainer. Currently about 75% thru the process. 1 minor gripe is I hand to drill out the holes for the flap hinges. The Ele and Rud hardwood mounting piece is pretty deep in the fuse making it somewhat cumbersome putting in the servos, especially when I did not use std size servos except for the flaps. I am using s Spektrum receiver with SAFE and AS3X, 6S, 75A ESC and a Predator motor that came from an FMS Olympus. This combination flew the 8+ # KAOS 60 quite well so it should do quite well for the 10CC Valiant. The Ail, Rud, & Elev servos are Spektrum AR500's. Hoping to maiden this in about a week. Watched your maiden, learned from it.

The 1.3M Valiant has been my favorite go-to plane, and now that I haven't crashed anything in a few days I want to graduate myself to balsa. I'm thinking an electrified Valiant 10cc. But that Cessna 170 from Flex Innovations is smiling at me... Their QQ certainly has delivered. By the way, my record aloft time in the 1.3M Valiant on a 3S 2400 is a hair shy of 45 minutes - not bad. Thanks, Tom, for your service handing out wise advice to yahoos like myself.

I agree with you that the flap and aileron servo mounts are the best I have seen.

I already have the 1.3m eflite valiant. Used it to learn with the same setting. Maybe I'll do the 30cc this winter. 😎

Watch my other site yesmensew.com for a story or two on how we make them. I am just starting that site so it might take a little while to get the content done and up.

Building this right now. My first wood plane, first build and first gas. Chose this plane almost soley based on your reviews. Any other tips on the build for a first time builder??

The instructions on that plane are very good. Follow them, the recommended throws and get the CG right. It is a very good-handling airframe no matter what size it is.

@@flyingrcdotnet thanks, I think I'm making it harder than what it is. I did the flaps last night and that's as you know pretty simple stuff. Ailerons tonight!

Just crashed my 10cc UltraStick like an idiot. Lucky for me the engine/servos/receiver are all fine. Decided to change it up and get this plane to put all that into because of this video. Magnum .61 4 stroke converted to CDI should fly it as well as that NGH 9cc gasser. You ship the FlyingRC covers to APO/FPO? I'm active duty stationed in Spain.

I haven't tried that kind of shipping but I am a vet myself and am willing to give it a shot.

@@flyingrcdotnet zip is 09645. Shipping is regular USPS but you fill out a customs form. Price is like shipping to NYC. I'll order a set when the Valiant comes in. Thanks! Appreciate your service as well. You guys had it a lot rougher than we do today.

Building this plane as my first arf.could you help a newbie out with tips and tricks.ive only been flying since may 2017.thanks

The best advice I ever received was to follow the instructions closely, be sure the CG is right where they say and get experienced flyers to check the plane over before you try to fly it. I would also find an experienced pilot where you fly to do the trim flights. An untested plane can be a handful for a new flyer so having it trimmed out makes your flying life way more relaxing.
