This game will allways have a special place in my heart. This was the first audiovisual content that really made me feel something for the characters, specially the main character. It's so beautiful and sad at the same time. I never cried like with this game and felt the same way. Every character is designed to make you feel his pain and feelings. No game will be at the level of this game. My sincere congrats to the people who made this masterpiece.

He probably meant the wars of ancient times like Rome and Carthage. They were very brutal, yes, but 80% of the time you would either be marching or just standing guard, occasionally fending off some raids and scouts. You always saw your enemy face-to-face. Wars like WW1 and 2, are the times of industrialized and streamlined killing and meat-grinding. You're constantly reminded of the War by either being shell-shocked and air-raided. Back in ancient times, death of 5,000 or more men is huge. In world wars death of 100,000 is hard but acceptable. Today's wars don't care about a single individual, but the collective machine as a whole. You're reduced to a mere cog in this bone-crushing war. That's how wars of back then weren't as mad as it's today.

My great uncle, Private Stanley lord of the Essex Yeomanry squadron was killed in the battle of the Somme on July 1st 1916, at the time he was in a barn sheltering from the German artillery bombardment and machine gun fire, he was taking a break with the rest of his group. Unfortunately, his whole squadron including himself was blown to pieces by a shell fired by the Germans. I visited the Thiepval memorial in France where his name is carved into the stone of pier one, face A. It was a great day to honor my relatives whose bravery in the battlefield ensured the safety and security of Britain, France, Russia and all the neighboring countries of Germany. May everyone who has been killed by the hand of war rest in peace. 🙏

The Great War was not Germany's fault and nor were they the antagonists. In war, there is no good and bad. There is only a winning side and a losing side. Only soldiers fighting and dying for their countries. No one truly wanted a war of this scale. It was a great accident. The network of alliances simply happened to trigger in such a way that it led to a large war. Also, the German attack on France was out of fear. They knew that if they preoccupied themselves with Russia, the French would take advantage of their weakness. The war with France was meant to be swift and decisive. No one knew it would drag on for four years. Though Germany was absolutely idiotic for getting Britain involved. However, that is besides the point. The Great War should be remembered as one of the greatest tragedies of human history.

Maniik Eddie Slovik The execution by firing squad was carried out at 10:04 a.m. on 31 January 1945, near the village of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The unrepentant Slovik said to the soldiers whose duty it was to prepare him for the firing squad before they led him to the place of execution, "They're not shooting me for deserting the United States Army, thousands of guys have done that. They just need to make an example out of somebody and I'm it because I'm an ex-con. I used to steal things when I was a kid, and that's what they are shooting me for. They're shooting me for the bread and chewing gum I stole when I was 12 years old."Slovik, wearing a uniform stripped of all insignia with a GI blanket across his shoulders against the cold, was led into the courtyard of a house chosen for the execution because it had a high masonry wall. The commanders did not want the local French civilians to witness the proceedings. Soldiers stood him against a six inch by six inch post. The soldiers strapped him to the post using web belts. One went around and under his arms and hung on a spike on the back side of the post to prevent his body from slumping following the volley. The others went around his knees and ankles. Just before a soldier placed a black hood over his head, the attending chaplain said to Slovik, "Eddie, when you get up there, say a little prayer for me." Slovik answered, "Okay, Father. I'll pray that you don't follow me too soon." Those were his last words.Twelve picked soldiers were detailed for the firing squad from the 109th Regiment. The weapons used were standard issue M-1 rifles with just one bullet for each rifle. One rifle was loaded with a blank. On the command of "Fire", Slovik was hit by eleven bullets, at least four of them being fatal. The wounds ranged from high in the neck region out to the left shoulder, over the left chest, and under the heart. One bullet was in the left upper arm. An Army physician quickly determined Slovik had not been immediately killed. Just as the firing squad's rifles were being reloaded in preparation for another volley, but before the reloading of the rifles was complete, Private Slovik died. He was 24 years of age. The whole process took 15 minutes.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Slovik Valiant Hearts: The Second World War...

Mad World good story Mad world im going to up it though Feburary 1944 6:18 pm 2 minutes untill Seargant Volkov was exectuted for betrayl. if only they knew the whole story. it was in the midst of winter in the forest bordering russian and the rest of europe. the germans were dug in like a tick and there was only one way for the red army... forward. for these brave selfless men there was no such thing as retreat, only forward. no matter the cost in lives or resources genaral Moroz was determined as hell to break through the Kraut line. He estimated the battle would take less than 2 weeks and 3,000 russian casulties but it was over a month and 20 thousand deaths confiermend. every day Moroz gave the men false hope by saying "today is the day we break through". Volkovs best freind since child hood Eline was scared every single day and today would be his last day being afraid. Moroz blew the whistle once giving the troops them the warning in 15 minutes the attak would start. 2 whistle blows, 3 whistle blows and at the 3 whisltle blow that was the 5 minute mark. Moroz looked at his men with despair in his eyes he knew that so many of these young man were going to die that day. He opened his mouth and stuttered out the words " men, soilders, medics, engineers and what ever else we have. we will break through this wall today we will not give up". Volkov sighed casue he knew it would end eventually. the fourth whistle blew about 400 men came out of there trenches running as fast as they could for a log to take cover behind, then another 400 and another 400 and the last bunch of 400 Volkov was in the last group and Eline was some where in the 3rd bunch. he saw men being shot down to his left and right. then at that moment a thought came to him "holy shit this is the farthest weve been". he ducked down behind a pile of boulders only to realize his mistake because of the 3 russian bodies next to him. He sprinted as fast as he could to a log and was hit in the leg, the pain didnt bother him at the moment and he ran to the log. he was shooting at the barracade and he saw a german in the disntance and took him down. Through all the noise he heard a mans scream and that was a scream that would terrify him for a the while he would live. it was Elines scream! He ran towards the screams of pain he was about 100 feet from the germans line. Volkov couldnt beleive waht he saw. Elines legs were blown off and his chest was open. there was no fixing this, they both knew what had to happen one couldnt say it becasue of the screams and the other could say it becasue of the tears, Volkov took out it Nagant and cocked the gun and put it to Elines head and pulled the trigger. Volkov just sat there in shock and didnt move. it wasnt untill Major Rusak ran up to him and looked at him he knew what had happened but didnt want to hurt Volkov so he sat next to him and said " Volkov were going to make it to the line today i need you". Volkov took Elines Dog tags and Hat and ran to the line like there was a black hole behind him sucking everything up he jumped in the germans trench and couldnt take it anymore, no more bombing, no more gun shots, no more blood. he tried to take it in and he asked one question "who killed Eline?". He grabbed a shovel and started swinging. he killed about 12 Krauts within the first minute and no matter who it was he was killing them. about 50 feet away towards where Volkov was running Moroz entered the trench, and they moved closer together and eventually Volkov swung his shovel and it connected to Morozs face. Bashing his face and killing him. Volkov had no intent of doing that. Rusak saw the whole thing. 2 hours later the germans either retrated or were killed, Rusak was now incharge and he knew the rules and so did Volkov. 1 month later Volkov was being Escorted to the middle of the woods, about 100 of his fellow comerades were there. this was the first execution the batalion handed out , so it was big news. he was attached to a tree. he was happy this was happeneing. he requested no to be blinefolded so he could see the men who would releave him of duty. Volkov was 20 years old. 8 bullets struck his chest and belly the kind of wound no one wanted but the final 2 blows would be his neck and heart. so how was that give me feed back

It's incredible to see how they managed to give so much life to characters with this kind of "childish-animation" made game. So serious facts and serious emotions. Yep. Definitely GOTY indeed. A wonderful, painful and true-to-the-core tribute to all those lives wasted in wars. Well done, Ubisoft.

Ma brother played before me and I remember he saying for years it was one of the best games he had played and I was like "come on you're exaggerating".Truly a piece of art...Valiant Hearts proves that simple graphics and small games can be just as powerful as some AAA game.

there are no winners in war everybody gave their life for what they believe, and I can respect that many people may have differing opinions on who was "the bad guy" but everybody loses in war so my condolences to anybody who lost anybody in the war no matter what side you're on we are all human beings in the end and hopefully in the future we will learn that we are all one of the same

Come let us honor our fallen soldiers Russian on the battlefield in World War II. And not only ours, but also French, English soldiers. Everyone. They all shed blood on the battlefield, that would provide us with our future. Their sacrifice was not in vain. Tell them thank you. THANKS war hero! LET THEM BE FOR LAND down! LET ALL WHO ARE NOW IN HEAVEN THERE BE HEARD THAT WE THANK THEM! Thanks to them! THANK YOU! Let all who were there in the heavens, let them there will be good. This as said is an art form, not merely a game, but an art form that touched soo many hearts to play the lives of millions lost in WWl, arguably the the saddest but greatest ending to a game/ art form of all time.

In memorian Amen
