You’re the first reviewer I’ve seen say they like the outer and inner display having the same app layout. Everyone else would complain about it and I never understood why it bothered them so much. Your explanation of your organization makes complete sense and it’s how I also would arrange apps. I’ve been heavily considering switching from iPhone to this foldable and I think you’ve convinced me now!

Don't get me wrong, customization and having more of it is nice. but to be honest, setting up a foldable can be a pain. And having everything done once, vs. having to do it twice is so much better (for me) and a reason why I like the Pixel experience on the Fold! :)

Can you make a video comparing the iPad mini to the Pixel 9 pro fold? Basically the benefits and downsides or each? I have an iPhone and like the idea of a foldable, yet the price and durability concerns hold me back. Not to mention an iPad mini is literally a third of the cost of a foldable in the US.

My favorite phone of 2024. Google is on the right track - I hope they go all the way with the next iteration. Thinner cover display bezels with more screen, lighter build, more colors, much faster charging, flagship cameras and improved multi-tasking software.

Right there with ya, I am most certainly loving the pixel 9 pro fold in my hand 😀 I also agree that some more customization options would be nice. Specifically I feel it would be nice if the aspect ratio settings for each app could be set for each screen and allowed custom values such as changing app height. Simply because some games go full screen without hiding the nav and notification bars, others automatically draw between the bars. Something to force the screen space used Is what I'm getting at I guess 😆

I myself have been eyeing this device! Right now I have 2 phones, one being a pixel 8, which I love the software and battery on, and off course a tablet! This would replace all those devices! Waiting to see what the new fold 7 will be as well!

I just got to the end of video, idk why but the google brnded charger from my old Pixel Chrome Slate charges the phone pretty quickly. Honestly other than that and the case, you gave a great video that stated my thoughts about the phone myself. My tablet is gathering dust on my desk!

Im in the process of returning my samsung fold after just 1 day use of it, I just find the samsung fold front screen is a little to small for me I dont want to have to open it up everytime I message someone cause the front is to small. I wish I would have gotten the google fold 9 instead cause I am a iphone user I just went back to my iphone 14 pro max until I figure out if I want this google phone or not, I just wanted a foldable phone and plus you really have to decide because the samsung phone is like 1,900 thats alot for a phone and the google phone looks more like my iphone I like my iphone 14 pro max cause I use the front alot but when I watch youtube and twtich making it bigger is better. Anyways is the battery good on the google phone?

Can you take a selfie with the main camera, and use the cover screen as a camera monitor to see if you're in frame? It's the only reason I would use a fold, since selfie cameras suck.

I like my profold. I just wish I could have different home layouts open and closed like the fold 6. Just give the option. I've really enjoyed everything about the fold. I don't feel like I'm compromising as much as some of the other foldables in the us.

you know you can change the galaxy fold's inner homescreen to be the same as the pixels (ie, with the outer screen being just page 1 on the left etc) with a toggle in the settings, right?

Also enjoy the P9PF moving over from Samsung Fold 4, which I used for 2yrs. I do miss a lot of the Samsung extras for tweaking (Good Lock), most notably sound assistant and separate app volumes, and Samsungs much better multitasking options (popups that you can minimize to bubbles). That being said, the Pixel fold just feels nice in the hands, the full sized front screen. I also dont like Samsung's separate screens for fold/unfold..abd that narrow unusable front screen. Looking forward to the Vegas stuff. And yes 3000$ w/taxes for the 512gb version in Canada is highway robbery without top of the line everything and no extras in the box (like a case). It should at minimum have a free case to protect a 3000$ foldable? I shouldnt have to spend another $100 to do so.

For me foldable replace a mini tablet so i do not need to carry 2 devices. And android tablet is usually weaker than mobile counter part unlike ipads. Hopefully pixel up their hardware game for Pixel 10 which supposedly going to have big changes.

@@madrat5176 I used that fold for a day, my friend bought it and offered me the device since I was with him all the day and he didn't want to bother with shifting the data then and there... I used the cameras and it was considerably worse than my pixel 8... and even my 7a felt a bit superior in terms of photos. The phone was quite heavy too... the cameras were something I wouldn't rely on tbh.

Camera is just not ok with me. I had OnePlus open, fold 4 and I'm.just done with them. The cameras suffer greatly. I'm using pixel pro xl now, I want to like the fold pro but until a foldable comes out with the top of the line cameras I'm not supporting them at this price.

I've been using folding phones for a couple years now ; and would 100% switch to this one if it had: -thin bezels -Sharp corners (not rounded) -Snapdragon SoC, the latest -Faster charging (wired esp.) -One UI (for foldables) One thing that gets me off Pixel phones is the stock PIXEL UI. It's horrendous.

Lol I love the Chinese phones on some aspects but I can't do that software. It's just not it 😂 Love the pixels. They won't charge as fast and Chinese phones have a few other features over pixels, but they are still all around a better phone than Chinese ones.

Honestly I still don’t see the point or utility of a foldable phone unless you don’t use computers at all and your phone is the only « computing » device you have so you want a bigger screen sometimes. In my case I stillluse my phone as an utility device when I need it so there’s nothing I really want on a foldable phone.
