I've done this with a couple of watches and movements, and that poxy centre second hand always gets me to the verge of throwing the whole shooting match out the window! Good job Jody!

One trick I learnt from other watch mod videos is that you can use rodico putty to 'pick up' the hands and place them onto the pinion before using the hand pushers. It's much much easier than using tweezers.

Hello. Nice watch!. The mesh would be my choice for that chronograph.

Fantastic job! The MOD looks great! I'm at the point in my life where changing the battery in a G-Shock 5600e has me feeling like a king. That donor watch was rather unsightly and hurt my eyes for sure.

Rodico putty helps a lot to hold hands. Done chrono hands, I feel your pain. They ping off and fly across a room amazingly well.

I've found that a loupe helps quite a bit with the extra small fiddly bits. Not sure if you happen to use one already but I can recommend it. A standard Bausch & Lomb will cost about $10. A triplet is going to be significantly more expensive though. A 4x loupe seems to be the standard for most watchmakers.

8:37. Looks beautiful. Love the case and Steve McQueen would too I'm sure. A rally strap is mentioned below, and yes, a black one would be great but the mesh is also highly period-appropriate. You in a tux, a mock Glock in your fist and that watch on your wrist, your silver hair glinting, the final touch would be a pair of glasses like Michael Caine's in Alfie...magic!

Dear God, I was cringing through the whole hand fitting! And the stem trim, next time rough cut it and file it till it fits. I like the square casing and am a big fan of the old TV screen style cases. Overall it looks like something I would wear, good job.

I finally bought a SARB033 after all this time. Found somebody selling a new one on Facebook marketplace. They wanted 350 but I ended up talking him down to 300 which I think is pretty dang good. It has papers and box and was still wrapped. I remember when they were like 450-500 dollars. Kinda glad the price dropped because I plan on wearing it. Anyway I'm quite happy. I also bought a steinhart ocean 39 premium GMT as a pick me up after my girl broke up with me this weekend, I saw it coming for about a week so it wasn't a complete surprise. Oh well. Nothing like a couple new watches to remind me that life goes on. Can't wait for that to arrive! I drove 40 minutes to pick up the sarb but I'm super happy to finally have one. Also they are 357 on Amazon in case anybody is interested and doesn't know the price has decreased from the ridiculous peak. Hope you are having a wonderful day Jody.

No cyclops and date at 6 o clock. A lot of original design elements. You should consider picking one up for a review or reaching out to steinhart. I really don't have any complains.

Crackin' bloody job Jody! You've got a giant big brass pair of knackers to drop $600 on that mod. I tell ya, I would've been shaking like a souse at breakfast AND wearing a 3XL Nappy whilst I tried to complete that much more difficult than it looks task. The result? LOVE IT! That style is straight up my dirt track. Well done. Wack it on a leather rally strap of the same yellow-ie brown of the indices and it will look even better! GREAT. WORK. MATE.. CONGRATS!

I ripped my hair out putting a small seconds hand onto a 6497. Discovered a trick... use a piece of rodico rolled into a “wand”, stick it to the tip of the hand and you can hold it in place to press it on the drive shaft. Saves time, keeps blood vessels from bursting in the brain. Nice job. Looks pretty nice.

I am not normally into modding watches but I really enjoyed this video. Bringing life into a nice looking NOS watch. I really liked the big square cushion case. The chrono hands are brutal! Took me at least an hour to get them on a replacement quartz chrono movement. I had no room for error since I only was replacing a broken movement. Not sure how watchmakers do it for a living, its was very tedious but very satisfying when the job was complete! 😁
