The fact that it's an amputee doesn't really matter much on it's own to me but I'm glad it's there as FromSoft did it the right way as its incorporated into the gameplay and story. It makes sense from a video game perspective that a custom arm would let you have all these special abilities.

It's my favourite fromsoft game of all time and I played all of the ones directed by myazaki (soulsborne) I just feel like it's one of those games that either clicks with you instantly and then you love every second of it or you just don't get it and get tired of with it and frustrated. I personally enjoy the combat so damn much that playing ds3 or bloodborne now feels unsatisfying. I love that in this game the best place to be in combat is right in the enemy's face having a true duel. in bb and ds it feels like im chipping away at a god with a toothpick, in sekiro it feels like Im fighting toe to toe with this legendary swordsman and the best one wins. not to talk about the setting and the art direction and the style (since Im a huge weeb this really makes me overjoyed) and the stealth (which I've always wanted in a fromsoft game) and also I just love that there's a story here and not just lore (not to say that dark souls' and bloodborne's lore isn't good i absolutely love those games and their lore and their music and their style) tl;dr I'm willing to fight anyone to the death to prove this game is amazing
@michaelandrews1175 жыл бұрын
Too many gank squads for my personal taste. The drunkard is the worst of this. Also I find that the world is pretty, but lacks the style of previous FromSoft titles, especially Bloodborne. The asset reusage is ridiculously noticeable here.
@sreka94605 жыл бұрын
@@michaelandrews117 It's quite apparent you only played the beggining of the game. the thing about "gank" squads is that you have stealth and prostethics that one shot the little guys, it's about devising the best and fastet way to kill every single enemy before the boss. and as for the world, play the game cause I don't want to spoil anything but style it surely doesn't lack. search fountainhead palace and the divine dragon fight if you think it lacks style
@michaelandrews1175 жыл бұрын
@@sreka9460 I'm not saying it lacks style I'm saying that a lot of the areas are just very samey. Still a good game. Though the story could be, you know, good.
@sreka94605 жыл бұрын
@@michaelandrews117 1. imo the story may be simplistic but if you give all the sake to emma the sculptor and ishhin and if you listen to the dialogue and the voice acting and if you do all the endings the story and characters really stick with you, for example the purification ending is so full of emotion and the voice acting is stelar when you hear sekiro's voice softly trembling. 2. only the first few areas look samey (ashina outskirts and ashina castle) from then on senpou temple looks completely different than mibu village or fountainhead palace or bodshivatta valley. I mean ofc ashina outskirts looks like ashina castle

Anybody who curious, a lot of this games 'problems' stem from mechanics that are critical being easy to miss and misunderstand. General tips: And mild spoilers for gameplay mechanics. Posture regeneration speed is based on current health. More means faster, for you AND for enemies. Use tactics to drop boss health to 2/3rds or less before trying to push their posture down. You can block any attack that isn't marked with the red warning sign. All melee attacks that aren't grapples. And even some of those red attacks can be deflected if you time it right, including terror inducing attacks. But more importantly, the red marking attacks are huge opportunities. You can leap over sweeps, mikiri thrusts, and step dodge grapples and most of those moves will be an easy window to punish bosses. The ninja tools are useful for bosses. Experiment. It might be as simple as the boss having a good window to use the axe or other straight forward tools you get later to neutralize moves. Or it might be as game changing as how some bosses have giant weaknesses to some tools. one old boss who has shit on plenty is a lot easier if you use the flame vent into your final prosthetic skill to set your sword and his ass on fire. The game's items are god like. Oil and fistful of ash will let you cheese so many mini bosses. they take some grinding to get but since every skill point you earn sticks around after death, that's good for you. If you want to cheese a bitch then whip out the item line up. If shit's giving you trouble explore around, side routes can let you power up to defeat main route bosses. I did it a couple of times. The upgrades to your vitality and power make a big difference. And finally, deflecting. Deflecting is much easier and less punishing than parrying in previous games. Even if you do it too soon you're now blocking since its the same button. On many bosses you can just tap L1 and deflect 4/5 of their spam attack moves. It looks a lot more impressive than it actually is.
