I also miss Valley Center. My family lived there from about 1950 to about 1962. Then my folks divorced, and my mom, sister, and brother moved up to Seattle. I've been back occasionally over the years. We lived for most of the time in the house at the top of the grade from Escondido... we called it Haines Hill. But now, I'm 77 and way too old to consider moving back. Besides, I couldn't afford to live there. But I still miss it.

I miss valley center. Me and my family moved up there in 1964. I was 4 years old. Before that we lived down on the rural part of escondido on valley parkway in a farmhouse. I remember riding the flume with my friends which is the canal you can you see at 0:41. It flowed by my house. I remember hanging out at lake wholford with my friends and I also remember hanging out at hell hole canyon. I lived on Lake wholford road in the minseund mobile home park which is by the san pasqual indian reservation. Me and my friends used to hike on some stagecoach roads by lake wholford. We used to smoke a bunch of dope up in valley center. I also remember pauma valley. I used to work at the country club from 1980 to 1983 i remeber when there was no guard rails on any of the roads or grades up there. Man I miss good old valley center. Please write your stories of growing up in valley center back then.
