So we finally made it back out to the track! These past couple years of preparation couldn’t have prepared me enough for the amount of fun I had at this track. Both the car and the track felt great besides the car running into some boost/tuning issues towards the end of the day. The 3 major differences this time around were the R1 Concepts big brakes, the Bridgestone RE71-R tires and the Whiteline sway bars and end link kit. Without those three key components, I wouldn’t have been able to get comfortable with the car as quickly as I did. I still have a lot more to learn about this courses race line but man did I have a blast! I hope you enjoy watching me have the time of my life!

That cabin view looks and sounds like a straight up racing machine. It's insane how far the Focus ST's limits can be pushed. I'm a jealous but proud owner of a Stock '16 FoST

You should put a duct on the center of the hood or a hood scoop to flow fresh air onto the turbo housing to cool it down as much as possible since the turbo is shoved deep in the back with lack of air flow, it is probably a big reason why your temps are so high since it gets boiling hot back there !

Supposing you ran the entire 2.68mi course (in 2m10s) your average speed was about 72.2mph, which is respectable. Their - the 1m40s guys - average speed would be 96.5mph which is quite a bit faster for sure, but they don’t do that with an ST on road tires. The fastest way to make progress is to hire a coach and have it in the car with you, 1:1 tuition for the day. That is worth 1-2 years of casual track days.

Gonna be getting a tubular crash bar and doing some custom ducting to effectively direct air into the radiator, oil cooler, and intercooler. That should help a ton just to prioritize the air flow in the front of the car.

220° is fine for coolant, the oil is at its high end but still ok, do you have an oil cooler? bsd? those two things with fl400s filter allow about 8 qts of oil. i added shrouding to prevent air going around my mountune radiator. i bring a water sprayer and spray water into the radiator when i’m cooling in between sessions. my temps after 20 minutes at 80° get to 235 oil and 220 water. perfectly safe temps. crash bar exchange will help more air get in as well. edit. i’m 2.3 stroker, forged bottom end gtx2867.
