What a difference more powerful hardware and tacky FMV can make to a game! What was already a fun golf sim on the SNES really comes into its own on the Saturn thanks to the smoother play, greatly improved graphics, and abundance of 90s cheese!

My favorite golf game was hot shots golf 4 for PlayStation 2
@NintendoComplete5 жыл бұрын
@@stevemoran4426 Those games were great too. I think my favorites are probably Jack Nicklaus on NES and Mario Golf on GBC and GameCube.

The hole flypast music is fantastic. Such a shame it’s baked into the FMV instead of a separate audio track.

This is the best golf game ever made, bar none. I can’t think of another to combine realistic golf physics with fantastical but plausible hole design.

3:22 - definitely not expecting such hard-driving epic music in a GOLF GAME.

I used to play this and Pebble Beach a lot with my brother back in the day. I'll never forget the Dragon Quest castle-sounding music on Hole 3. Thanks for the memories!

I went ahead and bought this one after seeing your video. It's too much cheesy 90s fun to patch up.

Same engine as Pebble Beach Golf Links for the ol Saturn...ya know the one with the walrus? ☺

There should be a golf game where you just play as the caddie
@Butterstix20143 жыл бұрын
Oh, was this called Devil’s Course on the Snes and Genesis? Is this the same one? The course layouts look exactly the same, so I’m leaning towards yes.
@sreusebiomurtinho95322 жыл бұрын
Yep I guess. But it remind the classic Pebble beach golf links from Sega genesis

Weird, I don't remember ever seeing this one. Anywhere, even while I was working at a game store. Interesting concept, though.

I had Pebble Beach Golf Links, which was made by the same company. I think Valora Valley Golf wasn’t as popular. Mind you this game was kind of fun to play as well.

Pebble Beach game engine, I see. But now, Craig Stadler doing crazy power shots is the only thing this is missing.

This was not programmed by VIC TOKAI. This was programmed by T&E Soft.

This looks like Pebble Beach Golf Links with a different course or a hacked / boot leg version.

Yeah, they were both made by T&E Soft, running on the same engine.

Is nowadays sega working and setting up new products? I havent heart news about the company for ages
@NintendoComplete5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they're still making stuff. Off the top of my head, they did the recent Fist of the North Star game, and they've got Shenmue 3 in the works. The Yakuza series is still going strong, and they're still doing Valkyria Chronicles games. I'm not sure what else atm
@DiamondGB5 жыл бұрын
Sega’s not doing Shenmue 3, they gave Yu Suzuki the rights to make 3 for free, but they’re playing no part at all in developing nor publishing. Besides what Nintendo Complete wrote, Sega published the really good Two Point Hospital last year. They also made a real good looking new House of the Dead game for arcades only. They are also making the Yakuza games...
@NintendoComplete5 жыл бұрын
@@DiamondGB Oh right, I totally forgot about that with Shenmue. Good call.
