I’m a 50 yo single professional woman with no kids. Traveled the world, buying my own house for the 3rd time. Adam is 100% correct in my personal experience. I want my own family more than anything. She’s delusional because her ego is hurt and she’ll never admit it.

Female nature what’s that? Emotional based chaos…..there’s exceptions. Some women fight their nature in favor of logic and discernment…….that takes a certain amount of maturity. I can see a young woman 20 something being narcissistic as the world is her oyster until about 35…..all she had to do b4 that was show up. So to expect her to be humble and down to earth when she doesn’t understand that people are only gonna kiss her azz for a short period of time in her life…….may be a bit much to ask. Unless she had a good dad or grew up with brothers

As a nurse in a hospital, the point about being cared for later on in life is on point. I've cared for female patients with no children, and it becomes a slow, cruel, and lonely life in those twilight years. It is a very sad sight to see someone suffer alone.

Think of the old Italian grandma who had 8 kids and has 35 grandkids. I had a gandma like that. When she finally had to go to the nursing home in her last year, she was rarely alone. When i went to visit her, i always found cousins and aunts and uncles already there. We ate. We prayed. We told stories. We laughed. We cried. Big, traditional families are beautiful in all their chaos and all their intensity and love.

Use the man to have a baby, gain some stability and now that they have the information that women actually can rule, they will just been better a planning no,😂😂, honestly this just shows that men in the future are fucked, thats the little details that men aren't noticing, they are just saying women aren't happy, but not looking at what woman have accomplished without them, and now how women can start the balance everything, all the men did was COMPLAIN 😂😂😂😂

I think Chelsea does have emotional problems that she has not dealt with, however, I think it's pretty DISGUSTING for Adam to say that ANY woman is "washed up" & "unworthy" after 40+ yrs old! And honestly, I am SHOCKED that the female guest (I have no idea who she is) is Not pushing back about that! Lets just see how she feels about all of that when she turns 40+! Bet she'll have a whole new take on it then! When I was my 20's & 30's I couldn't stand men that talked about & treated women 40+ as if they were worthless, it made me Really start not liking a LOT of men! And I worked in bands, as the only woman in the group & heard things that most women Don't hear coming out of men's mouths! And it Didn't leave a good impression of men, believe me! I think as much as Adam thinks Chelsea has "issues", imo, HE also has issues that he hasn't dealt with! Basically Adam's belief about a woman's worth is completely tied to her age, & I think that's an incredibly shallow way of thinking, & behaving! I think Adam has more growing up to do than he even realizes! I have lost a LOT of respect for him after hearing this segment of the show.

I would say for a man it may be easier to live life without kids we arnt built as the nurturing type. although kids add a whole new joy to life that isn't fully explainable to someone who doesnt have kids. This probably can be contrasted to woman even more. And I've had friends that went through this transition after me and told me how true i was. Theres no prouder deep feeling than raising your own. To care about someone so deeply to the extent that you would literally undergo any torture to help them just comes naturally. It's scary at 1st, you worry about trivial things like finances and how your life will change socially and having a whole new responsibility besides your own which kind of makes gives you a selfless feeling of the greater good. But the changes happen organically and build your character as a better person than who you were before I my eyes.. but hey that's just my experience, each to their own.

So because you're single with no kids mean you're not feminine? I just LOVE (not) when men tell women who we are and how we feel based on certain circumstances. I believe there is no "right" or "wrong" way to be happy & I think it's distasteful when people make blanket statements based on their own happiness standards. Everyone isn't the same. Focus on your own happiness and if someone says they are happy given their circumstances, then take them at their word! Again, everyone isn't the same.
@wendys390
@wendys390 8 ай бұрын
No, he wasn't saying that. I take his point to be that feminism promotes the idea that women can (and should) look for fulfillment anywhere else but with a marriage and children, which is treated kind of like the last option for women who can't have a more "fulfilling" life, i.e., by becoming a marine biologist (just as an example of a "real" profession). He's right, it does, because that's what I took to be the lesson when I was becoming a woman, and into the present day, girls are not very likely, when asked what they want to do with their lives, to say "I want to be a wife and mother," because that would be lame. It's still the prevailing message, and it's wrong. Some of us would have been far happier if they had not been so actively discouraged from that ambition----if not in so many words, then certainly by strong implication. When you think about it, that's a very wrong thing to do to young girls, to give them that message. In trying to "save" women from the "drudgery" of being the wife/mother, they kind of went too far the other way, you know? I just wanted to explain that because what he said really resonated with me, and I know he wasn't trying to say that unless you have a husband and kids you're not being feminine, that was not it at all. Thanks.

But our values are the same. God, Family and commitment to our vows of marriage. Raising our children was fun and a top priority. My grandson who is 30 years old told me, “when you get old grandma, I’m taking you to live me” I was truly touched in my heart. Children are a blessing. That woman does not know what she is missing.

If i had land, I wouldn't think twice about building a small dwelling for a family member to live to be close to/involved in a community but most people I know would NEVER do this. I think thats sad.

I'm a 78 year old woman, married, with children, grandchildren and a great grandchild. I've always said that I only got married and had kids because it was expected of me, it was the thing to do. I was never sure if I ever would have married and had children otherwise. When I saw that clip of Chesea Handler it confirmed for me that I did the right thing. I would not be the person I am today if I had stayed single and pursued a career. My life has had many challenges and as a result I've grown and became wise in ways that have made me have an abundant life. As the saying goes "smooth seas never made a good sailor", adversity itself is the catalyst for growth. Chelsea wants a perfect life thinking she'll have it by keeping herself separate. She's disillusioned and she knows it, otherwise she would not have had to make that video. There's no need to chastise her, it's more than enough that she's her own worst enemy. I hope she has a good life.

It's sad that she endured that pain of losing her brother early on life, and it probably did change her perspective on love, being a source of pain. I'm glad you guys brought that up. But honestly, not all women need to have children to live a fulfilled life, although my friends who suffered the loss of a close family member do not have children. I have children and grandchildren, and am happily divorced and never plan to marry again. Men benefit from marriage WAY more than women, and it's annoying to hear men act like we women want to be "wifed up." My experience is that men are way more trouble than they are worth to live with, and after being a wife and mother for a big chunk of my life it's nice to be able to live my own life, and not have to consider someone else for every meal and every thing I do. I respect and appreciate men, but I don't want one in my house. As great as you guys think you are, for me the good doesn't outweigh the bad. Most women I know have chosen to live alone, and it's not because we are too old and no one wants us.

I agree. Marriage and kids is not for everyone and that's ok. It needs to be more widely accepted for people not to have children. Having children isnt a blessing for everyone there are plenty of stories on Reddit to prove that and look at the many many people who hurt and kill their own children. There is very much a culture of "this is what you do" that pressures women to perhaps sacrifice a fulfilling career. It should be ok to just live and do what feels right for you. I also agree feminism should be about choice. Not making anyone feel less of a woman based on anyones standards.

Having a spouse and children does not guarantee happiness or fulfillment. And being single with no children is not synonymous with misery. There are genuinely happy people and miserable people in both camps. I think this conversation was unintentionally short sighted or narrow minded. That’s not a dig, just an observation because I am a fan. I think it boils down to this- everyone has to define what matters most to them and identify what they want out of life and pursue it. It’s also important to note that sometimes we get exactly what we want and we’re still not fulfilled because we’re not happy with ourselves. Introspection, self-improvement, and self-love are keys to happiness also!❣️

I totally agree with the fellas on everything here, but tbh I actually feel bad for Chelsea. She was a neglected child and it wasn’t her fault. She’s a lost soul who needs prayer! Anyone reading this I ask that you pray for her to see the Lord’s light because that’s the only way she could be fulfilled moving forward. Amen! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Keep up the good work fellas!!

There are pros and cons to everything. One of the major cons of the internet is that it created social media echo chambers where people (who can be absolutely wrong about virtually any subject matter) can be reaffirmed in their collective ignorance through likes and shares. It is something each of us has to learn to deal with.

The weirdest thing is that it's usually people that don't know much about her that assumed something about her. I don't know she seems pretty Dang happy. She does a lot of good. I don't know why men feel so uncomfortable with a woman being confident and successful. 🤷‍♂️

@@joey_rogers when people tell me how cool they are, I know they’re not cool. When someone makes a show of how “awesome” their life is on social media, that does not convince me. When someone has to drink at 9am to “deal” (ie cope), then they’re not in a good place.

@@ariclocke4566 I might have to watch it again but was she actually even drinking in the video? It's a video for social media lol. Every professional athlete thinks that they are the best. Successful businessmen love telling people how they became so successful. Joe rogan goes on rants about how he became such a great interviewer. Rappers constantly claim that they are the best. There have been times in my life where I have been happy, and there have been times where I maybe wasn't so much... I can almost guarantee you that I was able to identify the feeling that I had at that time. I could literally go on and on and on. Why the heck can't a bunch of adults just say " You know what I don't agree with a lot of things she says, And honestly maybe I have a problem with successful overbearing women. Maybe I'm projecting how I wish she felt as opposed to how she really feels." Money doesn't buy happiness? Well statistically that's actually wrong. She's freaking hilarious. She's rich. And she looks pretty Dang good for her age. I'd have a very hard time believing she isn't generally a pretty happy person.

@@joey_rogers if you want to believe she’s happy, then so be it. As for me, successful business owners talk about their success when asked (and they’re asked quite a bit), scam artists just talk about how successful they are when nobody asks and nobody’s talking about them. Let’s do a thought experiment: I’m in the military, let’s say someone released a video that said military men are miserable people. Would a happy military person A) think “well that’s a generalization that may or may not be true. I know I’m happy.” Or B) think “this is so untrue because I’m happy. In fact, I’m so content I should release my own video explaining how awesome my life is while drinking at 9am”.

I think the bigger problem here is, alot of younger girls will look at someone like Chelsea handler and think "wow that's great, the freedom, the fun, etc" so they then Also pursue the career in spite of everything and act like they are their own boss and men's opinions Don't mean anything. And by the time they realize they are lonely and unfulfilled it'll be too late, and you'll have a whole generation or girls who thought that way and are stuck alone in their 40s and 50s with nothing to do with themselves but be miserable b's to everyone.

@Dee A. it's not just having a man. It's a man. A family. A purpose. The Chelsea handler lifestyle is cool for some. Some people can live till they take their last breathe alone and free. But it's not a lifestyle for everyone. If i had to guess id say out of every 100 girls, 90 of them wouldnt be fulfilled living that way. At some point most women who's biology is built to reproduce and nurture will be longing for that purpose and to come home to a welcoming family or man or whatever it may be. In today's society there Is so much going on I think it's easy for women to push those things back 5 or 10 years because it's easy to be going through the daily grind and socializing and relaxing that you dont realize you feel an emptiness. But for most, a time will come where nature kicks in and the longing will begin. Doesn't mean everyone should have kids or a family, but atleast someone to come home to after a days work and share your life with at minimum. That's my opinion anyways.
@larracis
@larracis Жыл бұрын
@Dee A. it's the same for alot of guys too. Some guys can live freely doing whatever, and then have kids and realize they were missing a greater purpose. Having to provide for a family or a kid or whatever almost invigorates them to work harder and ultimately gives them a newfound sense of purpose. Again in today's world its easier for guys and girls to avoid those things because of how busy it can be. But at some point biology kicks in, for men it's providing, and for ladies it's nurturing and raising little ones. And If you manage to skate by without having those things and are happy. Then good for you. But most people who would miss out on those things will come to a point where biology is driving you in one way but it's too late to pursue that and you end up lonely and miserable.

@@larracis I think you to a large extent you’re correct. But one aspect that a lot of people don’t talk about is the difficulty finding mates. I think most women do want a family as well as a career but the standards of finding a suitable has gone up making the dating pool smaller and harder for most people. And right now women are choosing to be with “the one” or no one, that makes people marry less. Another thing let’s not pretend that times have changed. And with time changing, society and values change. These things that were saw as a taboo in the past aren’t taboos anymore. About 70 yrs ago it was a taboo if you were single at the age of 26, now some might even consider that “young”, people are free to pursue other interests, hit other miles stones, there’s more freedom in everything else including dating, partnerships and marriages. Life is short so people don’t want to live “unhappy” lives. It is what it is

I'm 44 and have been single my entire life. I'm not banging anybody or dating. I run a business and I am very goal driven. I'm just now thinking I may be ready to date. I had a whole lot of me to work on; physically, mentally, and spiritually. Thank god I never settled down when I was in my old mindset. I'm a much better person now. I feel I'm finally in the right space to be with the right partner. Where to even begin with dating, I have no clue because I have no time to spend on a dating app and waste. I'm not lonely, I'm very happy, and I absolutely love life! If it's meant for me, it will be. If not, that's ok too. I create my life exactly how I want, what I can control.

But my dear, you can't control the clock. It's like, they tell us we can put everything on hold until we're "ready," but few are able to pick right up and go for (and get) what we were more likely to get 20 years before. Men want young women, and young women have a lot easier time having children. The time spent doing education/career/work is your most energetic, optimum time for having a family, and you may already have passed the time for having children--at least easily. I hope you find all that you wish for, but remember time. It doesn't care what you want.

Hot mid lifer here, hoping I make it to 100! Live and let live, I just turned 50, never married , no kids, I’ve had three long term relationships. I absolutely grew with these relationships, but I never wanted marriage or kids with these men, I just never had the desire to do so, ever. I absolutely prefer being single, it’s lighter, calmer, freeing, and waaaay more fun. Marriage and kids aren’t for everyone, and you should be happy that those who know they don’t want kids , don’t have kids, there’s too many horrific parents out there creating monsters and depressed /anxiety filled kids, and let’s not forget about all the miserable married people out there, cheating and abusing their spouses.
