As someone who used the report feature on Venusian Rapper's steam account I can say that Valve do indeed look into the people that are reported if you provide proper evidence. I sent one and it took them like 2-3 hours to respond and they said they'd look into the profile more and do something. What is more likely is they are going to drop even more support for TF2. This was an issue the community could've solved... via Community Servers... no one has to use the matchmaking system... Valve has expressed how much effort they are willing to do, and my guess is they did this to placate ya'll complaining. There are no long term solutions to botting and cheating... and even if you wouldn't mind, turning off the item server would essentially kill the game right then and there, but the item servers are the primary reason for botting... and if they don't have the item server, they don't need the matchmade servers... and then people would complain about that. I am saying here, be very careful what you wish for... be very careful of how you handle this situation... you might get the opposite of what you want.

Getting on TF2 tonight as my small way of saying thanks to Valve for putting in some effort to save my all time favorite multiplayer game. I hope I’m not alone in saying I want to return to playing regularly if the bot troubles can be managed. To this day nothing on the multiplayer FPS market is as fun or charming as TF2 to me. It’s a lot more relaxing than other multiplayer shooters to play solo and just vibe with a good music playlist. Mmr and corporate meddling have killed so many later releases, and I’m thankful TF2 has stayed alive and always welcomed me back. I hope Valve realizes now that TF2 is still a big player in this not-insignificant demographic of people wanting a casual-yet-competitive experience.

I hope they continue to do more. As of tomorrow, I’ll have been playing TF2 for 14 years. I’ve got a son, a wife, and my own home and I still love this game. Hopping in after a rough day to hear people laughing and smiling on voice chat brings this man a warmth I haven’t heard on my headset in some years.

Last time, people stopped after Valve made one tweet and called it a day. Here, Valve is ACTUALLY taking action and banning several rampant and notorious cheaters and bot-hosters. Not saying that people should just go back to shilling Valve immediately, but I think people are allowed to be happy that Valve actually did something tangible this time around.

Look I understand your skepticism, but this has probably been the most valve has acted against bots in years, maybe ever, even if they stop now it will already have healed a lot of the game and community

This kinda reminds me of how Hello Games studio handled their initial backlash after releasing No Man's Sky. Instead of responding with an empty "wE hEaR yOu" tweet, Valve just went straight to the point and banned these bots. They learned from #savetf2 to let their actions speak for themselves. There's still work to be done, but ngl I'm pleasantly surprised by Valve so far

I reinstalled TF2 and played some over the weekend. It was like a completely different game. People talking to each other, trying to win, it felt like the game was alive again. Felt organic. Definitely worth another look if you miss the game for what it used to be.

The begining of the end was the 64 bits update, then just a bit of cleanin was needed, hope they never recover the hundreds of dollars they lost for premium bots service

When I first read the knews, I genuinely cried. It’s actually insane how touching a game can be, thanks tf2, for being the best game I ever played.
