A minor detail. Amber Hand has a game start line for Warden, which says: "You obfuscate your desires from me, Warden. What are you hiding?" This openly implies that Patrons can read minds, and also Warden can resist their mind reading. My theory on why Warden participates in the ritual is that he plans to sabotage the ritual, by first killing the enemy Patron and then some how rigging the summoning process to prevent his own Patron from entering the plane. Another minor detail is that Warden's name is most likely a reference to Dota 2's Arc Warden, whose goal in the story is also to destroy both Ancients (Dota's main objective building).

One interesting detail is the Baxter Society members are all missing their right arm (both Grey Talon and Shiv use prosthetics). This is either some kind of initiation ritual to be admitted into the Society, or maybe another reason, but it adds intrigue. This intrigue carries over to the new character Calico, who is a notorious criminal arms dealer, who is also missing her right arm. This seems to imply that she was once a member. And the funny part is Wraith is not missing any arms, as she keeps her real hands in her pockets at all time and simply use mechanical arms to do her dirty work. Another fascinating storyline is Dynamo's story and his reason for partaking in the ritual for a wish has nothing to do with gaining more knowledge. His wish is to get his body back. This seems underwhelming, especially since it appears that Patrons tell him that his wife will leave him if he doesn't get his body back soon since she wants to "embrace flesh, not steel". However, some of Dynamo's lines seem to indicate that he and his wife want kids, which instantly puts everything into place as to his motivations. Valve has cooked a truly unique universe with characters that just feel like a natural part of said universe and whose stories sometimes interconnect and sometimes don't, but still manages to flesh out the Deadlock universe and adds so much richness to it.

The idea of the almighty Jacob Lash being a personal trainer is _hilarious_ to me. In dota there are lines when a hero kills another hero, lanes with them, etc. and there are 120 heroes. They will definitely do the same here

In the game, every character has three conversations with every other hero. In Infernus’s conversation with Abrams, he reveals Infernus is actually an Ixian that was “New York born and raised”. So he didn’t immigrate. Overall really solid video though. Good stuff!

Pocket has so much Protagonist energy to him, I can see an entire show featuring him as a leading protagonist discovering New York, navigating his past and and stuff. Along side Abhrams and others as side protagonists. I just LOVE the world they set up. Ive already came up with my own character who is an orthodox Priest from Europe who tries to get rid of his lycanthropy. Spoiling myself that the game will feature VN type games for possibly each character, Ive even come up with the idea that he could abandon, or embrace it or be completely manipulated by the Patron and whatnot. All the characters in Deadlock has so much potential and they expand so much to the world.

Hey, not trying to be rude here but there are a lot of in game character voice lines and such that you hear from playing the game which gives you a bit of an idea about the characters especially the thing the patron says at the start to whichever character you are playing, one of the interesting ones is with shiv me personally i had fun just selecting and deselecting characters to hear their voice lines. Shivs is described by a father sometimes by a patron which is weird and then you can see him saying things like ill be bowling with my friend, then a patron voiceline where he thinks his friends will betray him and then again theres another patron line where they tell him that they would make him a king. And there are a lot of character voiceline conversations found through datamines which you could go over.

But I also liken the color of soul orbs to a lot of the Halloween event colors. The general vibe is so similar. Probably takes place... 20 years before TF2? The closest to this game was battleborne but the most yo uhad was 2 lanes and there was a skill tree instead that changes how your abilities act and you chose 3 items you wanted to bring to match. Movement was fast but not in depth and was similar to borderlands. So close to something great but deadlock nailed it in valve fashion

And deadlock just doesn't have classes so it really is just it's own "MOBA shooter" thing and comparing it to Hero Shooters just doesn't actually make sense since it just was never really part of the game's influence or design.

nah the pocket identity is referred to as a 2 person they as the arin fairfax and the cloak. his cloak (2 ability) is described as sentient in game. they're was a dev talking about how pocket was two characters in one as in but there isn't any lore yet.

idk why everyone keeps saying "them", pocket's case is a symbiote. He's still himself, he is just a parkour zombie being kept alive by a ghost briefcase, giving away said power would probably end him for good. Hence he wanted to hide the truth of the briefcase's power from others. You can easily play as pocket and hear his voicelines explaining stuffs or all quotes/voicelines in other ytube videos. Just look it up.
