@LRJ883 ай бұрын
Depends really, most of the time humidity would congregate on the outside of it since that's closest to the majority of humidity, however it overall isn't much of an issue. We don't face issues with flashlights, phones, cars, light fixtures etc. having issues with it even without water proofing, in dehumidifiers the main thing is that it's colder than the surroundings whereas in these cases it'd mostly be equal.

Arch is not a fork of linux, it's a linux distro, they ship an unmodified kernel, along with the lts and the zen kernels.(and more but there's no need to mention them all) The arch thing is more like what they did with KDE, valve wants some features which happen to benefit everyone, and they pay the open source projects to do it. SteamOS 3 is weird in its relation to Arch though, it uses a different package manager and is just a little odd overall, saying SteamOS 3 is a fork of arch is less wrong, though not really what I'd call it, SteamOS 3 is based on arch is what most people using linux would say.

To the package manager, doesn't it just use PackageKit (pkcon) for updates like every distro using GNOME Software and KDE Discover? Its very standard across so many Distros... many people don't even know their front end software uses this. I guess they have their own updater built into GameScope actually thinking about it, since that won't update other things... you have to go in Discover or run pkcon update to get them yourself.

The problem with the aluminium case is if it deformed (eg hit something with it accidentally, which is a possibility with a handheld console), it could cause short circuit, meanwhile a plastic is flexible enough or worst case it's break, but don't cause more problem.

hi buddy. i'm the guy with the backplate. i wanted to move (bend) the corners out a little bit near r1 and l1 because i thought at first that's what was making them stick. even there, where the backplate is at its thinnest, i had to take a hammer and bang on it like 20-30 times to move it by 0.5mm. you can find my post on r/metalworking. and I had to use the bigger hammer, not the small carpentry hammer i have. the backplate is about 1 mm thick at that point. the backplate is 2.3mm thick where the motherboard is. you are not bending it at all, ever. to give you a comparison, they make pressure cookers out of aluminium, and those have a wall thickness of 3.25mm. if you've ever held a pressure cooker in your hand you know it's super solid.

A Linux distibution (also distro) is not a fork of linux. Arch Linux is a linux distribution, not a fork of Linux. Linux strictly speaking is the kernel of the OS. A distribution includes needed software and more to make a complete OS. Also all distributions are not different OSes. Just because you use a different package manager and different GUI and so on, it does not make it different OS. It has to be very different like Android is for example to be considered a different OS.
@DeckReady4 ай бұрын
Thx
@mgord95184 ай бұрын
A "different OS" is subjective. Alpine usage is fairly similar to most GNU/Linux distros, even though it contains no GNU software, while NixOS is GNU-based but works very differently. Is Ubuntu a different OS than Debian? Most would consider them different even though Ubuntu is based on Debian and they use the same package manager. What about GNU distros that use the Hurd kernel? Is an OS the kernel, the userspace or both? What about distros with the same userspace base that aren't compatible, library-wise? It's a pedantic take, most people would consider anything that calls itself a "different OS" to be a different OS.
@ytmiva24 ай бұрын
For me if it has a different name, it’s a different OS. Even if it uses the same source code behind the scenes. That’s my personal definition anyway.

My acne only started to stop around this year and I'm 23, my mum never took me to a doctor for my acne because she thought it was normal to develop that during my teens. Which is true but it was horrible because I always had outbreaks of acne because my skin is very oily, it only ever started to calmed down till I was in my 20s. I have bit of acne scar there and there but not overwhelming amount, it's noticeable if you look up close. I also started to apply AHA+BHA cream every night after washing my face and that helped tremendously, everything else like acutane, thursday plantation didn't work and the pills I was prescribed by a dermatologist only helps if you keep taking it and that dries the crap out of my skin. I hated the blemishes I was getting, I have it on my face and body because of the acne, but now it's getting less and less the blemishes are starting to slowly fade away, it really helps with my self esteem. So for those out there with oily skin and have acne problems, try out the AHA+BHA cream to see if it works, I'd still recommend to see a dermatologist as they'll know whats best for you.

An aluminium handheld isn't a good idea, as skin-oils are actually corrosive to it

Hey man I think you looked great both then and now. Honestly I think the lighting in ur room is just wack and there's not enough light hitting the left side of your face. Hope this helps. fs u look 30-31.

Arch linux is not a fork of linux. Linux is the kernel. Every OS has a kernel. The kernel plus aditional software make a whole OS. Technically the OS that has the kernel named linux has the GNU software stack (bunch of software necessary to run a OS). So it's basically GNU+Linux, but hard to say GNU+Linux. Considering that people are a bit lazy just Linux has been used to identify the OS. ARCH LINUX is an OS that has the linux kernel and the GNU software stack. In linux world, the combination of kernel plus software (that make an OS) are called distributions. Arch is a distribution 🙂
