I have that same scissors. Very versatile, but for small delicate cuts, chances are you have to go elsewhere.

I do like them. And it's not like I don't have experience with other scissors, shears, and cutters. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l57SnWWcnbibm8k

The scissors is the one Vamplier tool I sort of regret buying. The handles are uncomfortable, don't fit the hand well, and don't allow for great leverage. The jaws are well machined but the smooth cutting surface is so short it doesn't make quick work of anything, and the serrated part of the jaw is also short, only really useful for cutting very small objects. For opening obnoxious plastic packaging, for example, they are about the last thing I reach for. I've owned them a year or two, and I'd say get the Vampliers pliers, they are all very good, but skip these scissors. Those "needle nose" pliers are terrific. They're more a long-reach duckbill than a needle, but I have plenty of needle-nose, and the long-reach duckbill with the very good gripping surfaces are extremely useful.

Dont know how you dont have more subs by now.
@lastbesttool3 жыл бұрын
I'm gaining subs slowly and continuously. I've not had a "viral" tool video so my channel just seeps into feeds based on similar watching. At least as far as I can tell. I also wonder if my daily videos prevent subscribing since viewers know where to find me. Any thoughts of why on you end?

@@lastbesttool lots of the time it's based due to KZbins coding/ not having a big video yet. Total views for youtube counted as much as views per video. I'd think making a how to video based on a tool would help being people to that video. For searches using key words help videos show up more. That being said changing a couple video titles from the normal once you have been using may also be a good test to do. I'd also say make a top 5 reason to buy (insert tool company or tool) would also set off some key word searches you had some snap on ones but everyone that does tools have snap on videos I'd do it for different companies not as well known/used up video wise.

@@lastbesttool I use to play a online game alot and did a couple of videos and I used key words like a money making video and pk video/ gambling videos. The quality was not any where near yours so subs didnt come but the short amount of videos I made had more views for like 3 of the videos than the videos you have just bc I hit a couple key words

@@lastbesttool try making a full 30 minute quick tool box tour not just drawer your most watched video types had the key word snap on box tour. Also your other most watched video type was a top 5.

I've got the combo shears and gotta be honest I was disappointed in them

I think scissors at this level are so specialized that they are easy to misemploy on tasks they are not suited to. I've heard from electricians and cable guys that these scissors don't work as well as others, even though they are not cable scissors. Also heard that the grips are too small. That too is relative. Barber shears have single-finger holes which is exactly what you want for precision cuts. Some shop snips allow most of your hand to climb inside the grip. Great for high force cutting. These Vampire Combo Scissors are somewhere in between. I don't think they should be your only scissors, but they certainly preform very well within their lane.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the Knipex on my list now.

@@lastbesttool Doc, didn't you recommend the Knipex 95 05 155 in a previous video? Unless I'm mis-remembering, I bought them on your recommendation and find them far better for small, high-leverage work than these Vampliers. Although I still don't love the small, hard plastic handles.
