This movie felt like somebody smoked a bunch of weed, played Deadspace, then watched Bram Stoker's Dracula, and decided they should merge the concepts into this.

The execution is bad but there’s some great ideas in this movie. I love the idea of a classic Transylvanian Dracula in a science fiction setting. It’s also really interesting how it’s far enough in the future no one knows about vampires, crosses or even religion in general so they’re ill equipped to fight a vampire.
@archeogeek3153 күн бұрын
Yeah and the idea that they don't have wood anymore is also great.
@haruruben2 күн бұрын
@ I missed that detail, it’s a cool science fiction idea. For a space faring people wood makes little sense. You could make a piece of wooden jewelry be worth a lot of money, but diamonds are cheap. Oh well, maybe someone will steal these ideas and put them in a better movie

Yeah for example van helsing shoulda already been a seasoned vampire hunter for the universe and his team is on a rescue mission to the space demeter where they come across Dracula the alpha vampire who falls for one of the crewmens ladies like in the novel but in space. This reminds me of a game we played in camp- you take a paper, write something, then give it to the next person. Second person can read only what person before them wrote, then bend the paper and write what they think should happen next and give it to next person, repeating the process. Somehow Dracula 3000 feels like script was written that way. XD

It's not easy to fly into a star. You would get into an orbit. Gravitation doesn't work like a rope pulling on things. It's the mass of objects bulging the universe. So you don't just crash into heavy objects, you circle them. The heavier they are the harder it gets to fly into them. You have to circle them and reduce your speed. So the part where they crash into the star wouldn't work like that. They would have entered an orbit, and they could have either slowed down to fly into the star, and the star would basically just devour them instead of exploding them, or they could have increased the speed to leave the orbit and fly way faster and leave the system 🤷♂️

I can't cite my sources because and I confess that I may be mixing myths but one of the myths I read about vampires in the Balkans says that a vampire is a corpse possessed by a lesser demon and this demon could only enter that corpse because it was already dead. the reasons for choosing X cadaver were relative. but the demon knew that he had an RPG-avatar at his disposal because the grave was the entrance to the other world of the dead and the vampirized body was the exit door for the lesser demon. The reasons for the demon's presence in the physical world vary depending on the story, but the demon kept his body functional by drinking blood. but he had to return to the grave during the day and when the vampire was discovered or identified people would nail him to the grave with a stake so the demon couldn't use him and when the corpse was decomposed the problem with the vampire would end, this film looks like is using a version of this myth. ps the legends in the Balkans vary from valley to valley or even from mountain to mountain.

just to devils advocate the ending... if you were piloting a ship into a star (yes a star, the Sun is the name we give our systems star, there arn't any other suns out there so these vampires die by STAR-light, not sunlight) the amount of heat and radiation given off by it would cause the hull to melt, the O2 in the ship to combust, whatever they have fuelling the engine core (which would have to be SUPER powerful as these guys are flying between GALAXIES) to destabilize and you'd blow up long before ever getting near the star.
