Van build continues with an INJURY... | Ep.37

The van build continues before Becca's little accident with the completion of the toilet system. Becca tweaks a few of the kitchen drawers as they were sticking. While her dad Nick, gets going on the heating system part of the truma install before it all went Pete tong with an injury.
It's a week on from the cut and it's healing nicely, albeit still very bruised. Dad's quick reactions meant the flap of skin stitched back into place and started to heal right away. I kept it covered for a few days and was then really surprised to see how unassuming it looked, once i dared to look at it.
Pretty lucky once again!
Anyway, work has started back up on the van now as I can once again, do manual labour.

Is it a good idea to put wet boots next to the heater duct in an enclosed garage? I can see it causing all sorts of condensation problems. It's better to leave them in the shower with the roof vent open and, while I think about it, you could get a removable telescopic rail in there to hang up wet coats at the same time.

I would advise against using convoluted pipe for your sink drain unless its the type thats smooth internally. The ribs will collect food waste and fats, which will lead to blockages and smells. Same comment for the dip in the pipe. Otherwise its coming along great.😊

If that's the same oven/grill as I had in our VW, I did exactly the same thing. The outer edges are like a samurai sword, I didn't know I'd done anything until I saw all the blood. Ouch. Hope it's not too sore.

AH! Thank goodness it wasn't just me. It was some metal which caught me for sure. Flippin shook! I was not expecting it at all. I'll be sure to be more careful in future then. Thank you for making me feel better about my silly shenanigans. It was very sore & bruised (not sure how?) for about 5/6 days. Then I could bend my finger again - because of course, I caught it right on the knuckle 😣

The accident seemed to happen at the very bottom of the oven. Did you catch it on the corner of the oven? If the blood had spurted a bit you would have known for sure.

Chocolate after an injury is an excellent choice but, personally I like a big slice of cake and a mug of strong tea. Hope its all healed up and you will put your gloves on like your dad says.

Chocolate fixes many problems 😂 i sliced through my glove and finger with a craft knife removing sealant from a roof vent, much choice words and a beer were required 😂 vans looking cracking! Keep it up x

Bumps cuts and scrapes will heal as long as you are ok you have literally put everything into your van if you want me to come over and help your dad for the next five days let me no one more job done not many more to do annual soon be on the Open Road see you on the next one take care of yourself on your family
