It was indeed a wonderful time. Access to music wasn’t AS easy. Records, tapes, and eventually CDs. Certainly didn’t have any access to this behind the scenes stuff. Man to imagine being in the studio with them watching… Rest in Peace Eddie. We will miss you forever.

Definitely a rough cut. Foundational to the final. Bluesy album version. That thoroughly kicked ass At least Dave was allowing for Eddie to fully develop this song into what we will always cherish on the album. Keep these cuts coming, Freddi. WE WANT MORE!!!

Every day, I find myself adding tunes because they are ALL badass. Little Dreamer, in a simple Rythm, Full Bug, Girl gone Bad, Outta Love. My favorite cover is Your no good. Mighty VH!!!

I love Eddie. One of a kind. This is my favorite Van Halen song. It’s top of my “Play it at my funeral” list. Dave was a rip off of Jim Dandy. He made it his own. Dave would get high on blow and forget some lyrics and fuck some things up, that gave Eddie less scrutiny live. He was a brilliant heal. Bigger than the sum of the parts.

@@chrischoir3594 Let me clarify this. "Fools" is my favorite song off "Women and Children First" and has been for decades. In 2012 I was a bassist in a VH tribute band with a non singing drummer and guitarist. I found Michael Anthony's bass and voice pretty damn easy to emulate (we are not talking Chris Squire, Sting or Geddy Lee). What makes "Fools" a classic has nothing to do with being catchy or "hooky". So hearing this version for the first time I like it as much as the original.

Van Halen a lot easier. Hell I can do DLR's vocals and VH bass parts easier simultaneously. Had to do it when the singer missed rehearsal several times.
