Everyone always talks about Eddie, but damn, Alex is spot on! He's never missed a beat- an epic, and incredibly technical player!

You said it. Alex was like a more disciplined Keith Moon (is that good, I think so). I love his heavy thud sound, really visceral in the low mids, that I like to call more is more. I really think Alex just might have been the best rock and roll stickman ever. Just happened he was playing with his brother who was the greatest rock and roll guitarist ever. Kind of like being the bassist in Led Zeppelin, John Paul Jones. You'll get accolades, yet someone else kind of steals your thunder by no fault of their own.

Stop hating on DLR. He is very very good at what he does, even in his late 50s here. He was an incredible singer in his day. Further, I like when the singer riffs off script at a live concert. That's what makes it entertaining. Same thing to be said for EVH, AVH, Michael Anthony/Wolfie, AND Sammy - you pay big $ for tickets to come to the live venue to hear their chops through extended playing, soloing, vocal riffs, interaction with crowd, etc on each song. It shouldn't just be about reproducing what was laid down in the studio. Finally, I appreciate SO much the talent I got to witness from all the lineups Van Halen had [DLR and Sammy]. Lots of fun over the years listening to these guys and seeing them live!

What video did you see? He was horrible. Had been since the early 90s. Off key, little movement, boring.
