Hagar brought Eddie to newer heights . He became the world's best ever guitar king . This was the best VH band in my opinion. Dave was a slacker out only for his own fame and fortune. Even after the rift between the Hagar VH.The reunion with Dave and Wolfie Dave sucked . Dave couldn't sing for shit. .
@Popwarner-x1w8 ай бұрын
@@waynealeksiewicz8772i could not have said it better. I think Sammy Hagar also brought out the playing with Michael Anthony. And also Alex Van Halen. If you listen to Van Halen 3 i think it is when Gary Cherone was the singer. Eddies guitar playing was great but Gary Cherone did not fit in the Band line Sammy Hagar did. I went to see Van Halen 3 times because it sounded so awesome with Sammy Hagar in the Band. I did however go and see Van Halen in 1980 in Fresno California and it was awesome. I was 16 and I was Hooked after that. I remember paying 5.75 for tickets and then they went up to 6.75. Good Times. That was when Bands made there money from those Big Vynl record albums and the DJ on the radio would talk during the beginning of the song all the way up to the time the singer started in. You have to be old to remember that. And no one had a cellphone. You had to get out of the house and go find your friends. It was s way better. Good Times

I think he means that Dave in Van Halen just doesn't have the same feel to it anymore as the heyday or when they first got back together. I think many Van Halen fans, even Roth fans have kind of soured on that lineup now. I think Van Halen honestly needs to change it up every 10 years. That is the way they have done it their whole career, seriously, and guess what....its been 10 years. So Van Hagar come on down!!!

Man On A Mission, Spanked and In N Out were not played at either Fresno show even though they are in this concert film. This video along with Spanked and In N Out were from a staged shoot for the songs to be included in the concert film. It's a great version that they recorded in the studio and mixed it to sound like live with overdubbed crowd but it's not live in front of an audience. In addition when you listen to the uncut audience tapes Sammy was out of tune all over the place for both shows (it was the end of a long tour for him and his voice was worn out). No wonder the brothers made him come back to re-cut his vocals for the live album.

If you ever wondered why it had to be Dave First and then Sammy......this tour is why. No way, no how would any of us have ever accepted Dave's limited vocal range after seeing this tour first. Truth-be-told as much as I love the Dave years.....I'm sorry they re-united with Dave. It wasn't until I saw Dave again, without the benefit of Mike's strong backing vocals, after Sam and Mike were gone, that I truly came to realize how poor his vocals really were "live".

Even more then VH1. I think the second side of any bands albums. Is the best music of the album. They never make it on the radio. For me woman and children the first is that . All songs are deep cuts. But Sam is just a better singer. And he wants to be a good one to. What I don't like about Sam. He talks over people that he interview. And he air out dirty laundry on Edward. I closed my ears when he talks about people. But I can't take away what he can do with singing. Even at his age today. And you to admit he would try to sing anything. We're David is not. Even if he could sing. His ego is bigger than that. Cuz I think there's a couple of songs with Sam area that David would do better. Like finish what you started. David would be awesome in that one.

I love Van Halen with both DLR and Sammy. They are different sounds, but I will take this Hagar line-up all day. Here's why: Sammy can actually SING, DLR sucks. Sammy is also a great guitar player as well. The band hits its stride with Sammy which they never hit commercially other than "1984". Sammy just brought so much to the band and he and Eddie had such chemistry. Sammy can sing the DLR material, but DLR can't touch Sammy's material even in his prime. DLR is all show and no go like Vince Neil.
