Great reaction as always, you asked if anyone heard Rush in the song and as they (Rush) were my favorite band until i was introduced to Band Maid. The guitar work at one point is reminescent of Alex Lifeson’s playing. These ladies are a very close second to Band Maid and anything that Lisa-X and Hazuki do is always great. Miss Nitt Picc you should check out their cover of Automatic it’s really good.

As others mentioned, there is a new single. If you want to see Li-sa-x´s and Hazuki´s hands as they play, there are two playthroughs from the Li-sa-x Band era: "Just Be My Treasure" and "Cola Bottle Again". Kanade Sato is, for instance, in a band of sorts, called Muses, with Juna Serita, which you saw in TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI. Spain (Chick Corea Cover) / Muses

Many will be familiar with Kanade not only as a child prodigy, but as Rie aka Suzaku's backing drummer. She's also a member of Muses, with Rie aka Suzaku (guitar) and the Princes of Funk, Juna Serita, on bass. She's in darn good company as someone who also frequently performs with Rie is Senri Kawaguchi, one of the Top 5 best drummers on the planet, period. Li-sa-X is a child prodigy. Rie aka Suzaku is a bona fide guitar goddess. Check out the video titled "Rie a.k.a. Suzaku / Ice World 2022.6.19 Live Version" to see the performance of that song with Kanade. Check out the video titled "Onyx / Ice World / Wangan Street >Rie a.k.a. Suzaku (G) /川口千里 (Dr)/星野李奈 (B)/池尻喜子 (Kb)" for the comparison of the same song with Senri on drums (second song in the video). I have been following Li-sa-X since she was about 13 and she was playing with an American guitarist who plays rockabilly and bluegrass, and she was killing it. I don't remember if you have reacted to it or not, but check out the song "Looking Up To You" by Li-sa-X Band with Lisa and Hazuki and an amazing singer named Rina, who left at some point. That video is out of this world from both a musicianship aspect and a vocal aspect. Lisa has collaborated quite a few times with Yoyoka in the past and when Yoyoka did her 12th Birthday Sessions 3 years ago, Lisa and a veteran Japanese bassist and Yoyoka did an amazing cover of Joe Satriani's "Satch Boogie". I think you would also enjoy Yoyoka's 12th Birthday Sessions, when she works with some of the best Japanese session musicians and singers doing great rock covers from Deep Purple, Van Halen, Rush and a bunch of others. Yoyoka is another very talented drummer from Japan who has been at it since she was 3 years old. She has had her own KZbin channel since she was 5 and has done dozens of great covers of all the great rock bands past and present. She's lived in the US for the last couple of years and is in LA. She sits in with different local bands at venues like the Whiskey A Go Go and there are a lot of great videos of her playing. For her 15th birthday she's having a concert at the Chateau Marmont in LA and will have several groups playing. It should be a great show. She has gained the respect of musicians like Ian Paice, Jimmy Page, Carmine Appice, Dave Grohl and Chad Smith. I know you have a lot on your plate with new groups and songs and your work, but you really need to check Yoyoka out. She's also involved with a project called "kids rock for kids", that has done perfect covers of "Hysteria" by Muse and "Peace of Mind" by Boston. The ages of the members run from 9 to 14 and their vocalist, a 13 year old from New Jersey is just uber-talented. I'll shut up now, sorry for getting carried away, lolololol Just keep it in mind.

Amen to that. I’m an old guy and truth be told - I avoid those bands (half naked female musicians) I don’t want to be thought of as some old pervert looking at these young ladies (the age of my daughter - please). The ending of this song has what's sometimes called a "Big Rock Ending" on it. I'm not a drummer, but I'm guessing that sound that you hear there doesn't have a name per se, but it sounds like a "flam" on the snare (which is one stick hitting right after the other, still essentially on the same beat) and a kick drum hit just subsequent to that (or sometimes two if they have a double-pedal and can essentially do a kick flam) which is essentially a lot of drum sound all at once. A typical Big Rock ending might be this pattern followed by a cymbal crescendo, followed by a snare roll, followed by the pattern once again to end it. See Band-Maid's song Hate? at Yokohama (which I'm sure you've reacted to) for an example of a long crescendo part with kicks holding it until a more distinct double hit end (as opposed to the flam end).
@RobinClegg-f6qАй бұрын
You're correct it was a flam although a very separated one.

About the X in Li-sa X. Li-sa got her 'big break' after she did a cover of *_Scarified_* by Racer X when she was 8 yo. It earned her an invitation to be on the Ellen show. Paul Gilbert, a guitarist from Racer X heard her cover, and was so impressed he contacted her to tell her so. He also offered to be her Mentor going forward. Li-sa was thrilled and accepted his offer, and she has worked with him online ever since. With all that background, I think it is pretty easy to see why she added the X to her stage name (I'm pretty sure that Lisa is not her Japanese name)

The word “prodigy” gets thrown around way too much. In this case, it is fully deserved. Lisa-X has been posting music on youtube since she was seven, did credible covers of Dream Theater and Polyphia at 10, and has had her own band since she was 13. The core members of Lisa-X band were Lisa-X, Rina on vocals and Hazuki, formerly of Disqualia and now the lead guitarist for Nemophila, on co-lead guitar. Here she is doing a playthrough with Hazuki on “Just Be My Treasure”: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3_CoH-nidCUbK8 “One More Chance Is Enough” with Billy Sheehan (!) on bass (Sheehan is on the consensus short list of candidates for best rock bassist in the world). kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqvWoqCkesZrb8U Rina left the band in 2022 and they took a hiatus to rebuild. They re-emerged as Koiai, and can legitimately claim to be a supergroup. Kotono joined them after stints with various groups including Ironbunny and a previous collaboration with Lisa-X. The big catch was Kanade Sato on drums. Sato is also a member of Muses and is in big demand as a session drummer. She is often compared with the already legendary Senri Kawaguchi. Wakazaemon has been appearing as a guest on bass. She frequently tours with Marty Friedman and is also a member of East of Eden. Here are two more links worth checking out. The first one is Lisa’s 2017 appearance at the annual female rock festival organized by Show-Ya-she is up there with some of the best guitarists in the world and they clearly love sharing the stage with her. The second one is her collaboration with the even younger drum phenom, Yoyoka Soma, who is herself a force of nature. At NaonのYaon (age 12): kzbin.info/www/bejne/npPIiGqPqstgl5I With Yoyoka: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGqaeX6unJl2rc0 Here are more links to Koiai: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nV6tdoiNo7magLs kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIKymaCFbKaZaKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ_NcptrbbR0Z5I (cover of Dirty Loops version) Overall, rock is not only in good hands, but arguably has been taken over by Japanese women. I don’t understand this obsession with picking apart the musical influences in the songs by Japanese bands. I mean, ultimately it can all be traced all the way back to Bessie Smith and Robert Johnson. I’m more concerned with questions like: does it sound good, how does it make me feel, and why does it make me feel that way?

Why would you want to watch a video of her just giving an opinion on if it's good or not? That's for all of us to decide individually and should be done by watching the official video, not some low-effort "reaction" that most reaction channels churn out. By providing some analysis of the music, she's actually adding something to it.

Discovering a band’s, or individual musicians’, influence helps us, in part, understand them.

In response to some of the feedback on my previous comment, saying it sounds like an AC/DC riff, or any other band, is not analysis. On other channels, all I hear is this riff sounds like band X. That arpeggio sounds like band Y. That drum fill sounds like band Z. Not very insightful. As NittPicc says, all musicians borrow from music they've heard before. What is interesting to discuss is things like: What makes that AC/DC riff so awesome? Can you describe it in terms of music theory? How does it make you fell when you hear HAZUKI and LISA-X play it? Have these musicians taken that influence to greater heights than the original? Etc. These are the kind of insights that make NittPicc's reactions so interesting.
