"Van life" is radically different for wealthy traveling youngsters LARPing along vs an old lady barely surviving in a stationary van behind the Salvation Army bin. Likewise, living in a house can mean working 80 hours a week in a crowded, polluted city with hordes of homeless pooping on the streets... and it can mean working part time at $175/hour like my husband, and having your Supercub parked out front on a beautiful homestead in Alaska.
