@@LadyBugout-years ago,80's 90's while in law enforcement ( not telling the agency)🤫 our team did massive amounts of surveillance. 5-6am till long after 7:00 pm. We had them outfitted with one small isolator hooked up to a deep cell marine battery. It lasted the whole shift while powering up camcorders, tv monitors, a 12 volt cooler and all other items we needed! Perfect and inexpensive. Isolator was under $30. Battery was about $200 then. We would have used lithium, but didn't exist then. Today we have 5, 100 amp lithium batteries that power all our lights,micro, fridge, charging ports and our 12volt ac. We built our sprinter 2019. Very happy. What I suggested is cheap and will power all your little items should you chose. Look into it. Looking is cheap😃
@EfficientRVer6 ай бұрын
As always, the stuff you recommend is well chosen. I already had probably 15 items you earlier recommended later, on my Amazon "save for later" watch list to follow the prices of. I think your mesh organizer that velcros itself to the seatback, was $13, dropped as low as $6.50, and went back to $13. The bamboo table barely ever budges in price. Other things occasionally drop 10% or so, like the smell-proof container for your garbage currently 12% off. Two notes about the things in this video. 1. The seat warmer needs USB-C PD 30W or higher. That is a huge plus to me. I am in the process of changing everything possible to USB-C PD. In my case, my 299Wh power station has a PD 30W output and a PD 60W input/output. But my power banks (probably at least 5 or 6 years old) for phone charging only have USB-A outputs, so wouldn't be able to power it. I guess it's time for me to get a power bank with USB-C PD output, though I think I'll nurse my old power banks along until they give up the ghost. I have USB-C ports at home, in my car, and on my power station, good enough. 2. The cupholder contraption with the tray and phone holder, has mixed reviews. Some people swear by it, some swear at it. It comes in Small and Large, and I couldn't find any differences in the descriptions of them after a minute or two of trying. I've been kicking around about 4 different options for improving my phone holding and cup holder situation. So far, I'm sticking with a good vent-bases phone holder, though your suggestion has me tempted.
@LadyBugout6 ай бұрын
I have the same issue with USB-C PD. My Jackery actually has one thankfully. But they do have adapters on Amazon for $6 which I was literally just looking at 😝. I’ve had such a hard time finding something for my console area that fits. And I am so glad that my old one fit because that had been useful when I have bigger cups and bottles. So far so good with this one. We shall see how it holds up over time.

I just bought me a new type of a tent to set up when I go somewhere for any length of time but I am also setting up my Subaru outback to camp in it so I don’t have to haul my camper around with. Just ordered me a power station to use an electric blanket off of on chilly nights and it’s big enough that will power a fridge to keep cold drinks. In about a month or so I will get me a roof top cargo carrier to add more storage for like folding chairs, a folding table, etc etc. so I am getting ideas from you on these hooks to help hold things like a coat or light jacket.

Was advised early on to avoid "do dads". May be borderline claustrophobic but my rig is very 'streamlined'. Looking in looks like an on-the-road office. No evidence of bed or domestic activities. A newer vehicle has factory installed options making this type of refit easier. Others assuming mine is a commercial work vehicle may give an additional layer of safety on-the-road.

Roll down windows are better in an accident where you end up in deep water, you can roll them down to get out. The engine shuts off in water and the automatic windows don't work. The vehicle makers are rethinking the safety issues with the automatic windows. Let's see if they change it back to roll down. Awesome finds! I really like the warming blanket. 🙂

As an RVer myself in my 2003 24ft Class C that I’ve owned since new and have over the years upgraded and accessorized the inside to my personal likes, your mini style of camping hacks ring true to me. Some have even gave me cause for to rethink some of what I did. I’m impressed and intrigued with your soft, casual and intuitive approach to problem solving. I confess that I’ve been binge watching all your videos to see what else I could give a second thought to in my RV. I’ll check your playlists to see, but have you made any videos on some of your outdoor camping techniques and gear like chair, campfires, cooking etc..? Any videos on some of your destination explorations that were especially memorable? I’m eager to see your experiences in your travels through your eyes and comments. I’m about to finally retire at 70 and plan on taking my RV and motorcycle all over our beautiful country and experience what you and several other KZbinrs are enjoying. I have gone through several cup holder changes, bins, bags, etc., to make movements, storage easier for me. The less I have to move to clear space the better. I guess that given the space we have in our van's, we are compelled to find gear that makes our daily lives better or more comfortable. I like the bin idea for the passenger seat and the comfort roll for your seat. Great ideas, Dee!!

Love the new additions. You mention a number of hooks that are not slid over a shelf, they're just screwed in. What are they screwed into??? I've been planning a build with a curtain in a track, and realized (around 2 am) that I surely can't can just screw that track into the headliner. I should probably remove it and put some plywood up there ... but I really don't want to! I know your solution for curtain has been a shower rod, but I designed something that curves.

I’m not sure which ones you refer to. But several are magnetic. The other are screwed into the factory holes of the van. Nice! I’ve been looking into the flexible curtain strips that many of my RV friend use for curtains!!!

Wow! Those are some really great finds!! Love the cup holder ideas. The cup holders in my new-to-me van are wood and my bottles/cups go right through.

Oh man… the console area has been such an issue for me because it is so small. So I really looked high and low for something that would work. So far so good. No objects falling through 😝

Cheap solutions: bigger cups or attach a shelf or mesh to the bottom of your wooden cup holder to keep your current cups or water bottle from hitting the floor. :) You could also get a short insert cup that won't fall through and put your cup in it. Jon in rural BC, Canada

My birthday just passed and I soooo wish I knew about that heated seat pad before. LOL It’s the kind of thing I won’t buy for myself but would be perfect for my Amazon wish list. Oh well, maybe next February. :)

You look very comfortable under your seat warmer! Many good ideas in this video, and I may buy the cup holder which looks very versatile. In particular, I like how the phone is mounted which I think would be useful when I drive out to the southwest in about a week. I am looking forward to sun, warmth, beauty and all of the oddities of the desert--Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Slab City, Bombay Beach, etc. I think that I will come back to Michigan in early May when the weather is better.

Great idea about that seat warmer! Much more versatile than electric blanket. What's the power draw like, if you don't mind my asking?
@LadyBugout6 ай бұрын
It has been a game-changer. It only draws 4w on high, 3 on medium, 2 on low. I can have it running all night and it only takes my 160w Jackery power station down by 30-40 %. So, I would highly recommend. I’ve been in 30 degree Fahrenheit weather for a while now and it has kept me toasty warm.

Great tips 😊 Can I ask what you use the mini bag sealer for?
@LadyBugout4 ай бұрын
Thanks. I use it to reseal any bag I might have, like my pecans and walnuts…it seals all kinds of packaging that are in bag form.

The first few years of full time rv life in my smaller class c, I was very hooky hangy. I’ve gone to a more streamlined hard/soft storage for most things for a more open atmosphere in the living quarters. So many ways we can do things.

I have absolutely loved it!!! And yes… I mainly sleep on the chair pull out rather than the sofa pull out ☺️
