Hey everyone, this is Rick - I can't thank you all enough for your amazing, supportive comments. I hope the thing that really shows through is how much of a difference it makes to have positive, supportive people in your life and to not give up on yourself before you at least try. I wasn't very certain of myself that day but I showed up and the love and support of the people around me did the rest. Sometimes that's all we can do...show up, give it your best and see what happens. If you have a big goal in life that you've been holding back on, I hope this video gives you a little extra courage to give it a shot. You got this!!

Amazing commitment by all. Looking forward to you being on Nate’s team. So glad you have been able to overcome the challenges that initiated 2+ decades ago. I’m 30 years post spinal cord injury and have done more from my chair than I would have ever done on my two feet. From 25 mile Long hand cycle rides with friends, skydiving..with friends, mono snow skiing, sea kayaking Lake Superior, camping and canoeing down the Ocala Nat’l Forest, and waterskiing, then the ultimate journey-having 3 children (24,14,&7). Such a pleasure to watch you excel and how much love you have from your family and friends is a blessing. Best wishes on wherever your journey takes you.

I don’t even know Rick yet I am crying happy tears for him. Your love (family and friends) helped him make the impossible possible. How exciting! Seeing his girls watch their dad take on and master this challenge is a life lesson you can’t buy. Hope that makes sense! Congratulations to all the cyclists and wishing Nate well in his run too. Good job pit crew!!

I watched this while sick, on vacation in France with an infection in my chest and a fever that’s been on and off for 5 days. It’s been miserable to say the least. But when Rick talked about how he approached his injury, how he used the power of his mind to overcome what could’ve been completely debilitating - it gave me hope. I feel like this episode came to me right when I needed it. Thank you to Rick for your bravery and candor about your journey, and to Kara and Nate for capturing this.

I think this is my favorite video you've ever posted (which is CRAZY because there is some competition), but this one was just so special! I've been looking forward to all Leadville 100 videos since I found out you were running it and this one did not disappoint! Getting to hear Rick's story after we've known him these years was so special and seeing him finish that race was amazing! Thank you guys for doing this and capturing it all!

I think Rick's story should be a standalone video. It's truly exceptional. And that isn't taking away from the rest of the video. I love it all.
