Van Morrison has been my favorite musician since I was a little girl. His songs always resonated with me on a high level, even when I didn’t speak English. When I was able to understand the meaning of his lyrics, I realized the exquisiteness of his music. With Three Chords & the Truth, Van Morrison revealed that he isn’t only a brilliant musician, but a beautiful human being, too.

I wonder if you read these posts Van. You are held in such high esteem by so many. For me your music has been the sound track to my life. It all started when, aged 17, I was given the LP Hard nose the highway by a friend, this was his way of preparing me for Astral Weeks which completely blew me away. I’ve followed you ever since, attending as many concerts as I can with family and friends. The Riyal Albert Hall was a big favourite. Most recently, my wife came to your concert in Hull last year, a brilliant night and judging by the number of encores, a night you enjoyed also. The following morning I realised we were having breakfast in the same hotel and I was able to shake your hand and thank you for a lifetimes worth of inspiration. We are booked to see you in January at the Stormont Hotel, something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Unfortunately, my wife has cancer but we are praying that we can still make the trip over. Thanks for all you do. Your music brings inspiration and solace in equal measures, it lifts me up, it makes me smile and it moves me to tears. Many peoples lives are all the better for having you as part of them.
