I like that you understand "flying is flying".. getting paid a nice salary and flying smaller airplanes with a awesome quality of life is way better than flying for a "airline" and living out of hotels and never seeing your family or friends. Enjoyed the video. :)

awesome as usual! Just enlisted in the marines I plan on using the GI bill to pay for the rest of my flight training

Theo Baudry Thank you for your service!

Theo Baudry I considered using the GI Bill for flying as well, but ended up using for law school. Th GI Bill was the best investment I ever made. I paid a total of $1,200 into it and then by the time I used it ended up receiving almost $1,200 per month. It paid out for so long that I seriously wondered if they were ever going to turn it off. It's hard putting money into when it consumes a big chunk of your enlisted pay (for a few months at least). But it's worth it and I've earned enough as a lawyer finally to take flying lessons--should be doing my check ride in August. Hope you enjoy the Marines. I was Navy and stationed on a couple different carriers. But I got to know a lot of Marines from the squadrons that were on board. In fact, nearly 20 years later, of the dozen guys I still surf with and visit, only one of them is Navy--the rest are Marines and we're still as close today as we were 20 years ago.

Theo Baudry GI bill wont pay for pilot license unless you already have a private pilot endorsement.
@Thetheobaudry9 жыл бұрын
Johnjcchaney I'm working on that Private Pilot, I'm in DEP and working on scholarships, if the scholarship pulls through, ill be going to college and then get to fly for the marines, and then I would use the GI bill to pay for advanced education, like Aeronautical Engineering, or something of that sort. If I go Active (i.e scholarship fails) then Ill use the GI for flying while attending one of those two year schools that are free in Tennessee, where I live)
@seadog29699 жыл бұрын
If you go to a flight school (instead of through an instructor) you may be able to use the GI Bill even if you're working on the PPL. Either way, stick to investing in the GI Bill--good stuff.

MrAviation101, thanks for all the great videos thus far. Although I am not able to pursue flying at this point in my life, your videos make me want to that much more. Hearing about and seeing your adventures in 991 is a blast. Thanks for what you do! Sincerely, Andrew D. Sims, A1C 190th ARW, 190th MXS Kansas Air National Guard

From takeoff, what was your heading while climbing to 5000 feet? I live in the general area (Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks) and only marginally aware of air traffic departure and arrival paths in the SF valley. I never hear or see any traffic from the VN airport, while Burbank is pretty obvious with it's larger craft.

Josh, mid flight, do you always have your hand on the throttle? Also, is this right. Speed =Altitude and Pitch = speed? Wasnt it something like that? Sorry, i just turned 16 and im saving up from flight lessons.
@cenasux2229 жыл бұрын
That is true on landing. Otherwise think attitude= turn rate/climb rate, and throttle= speed
