Just need a series on Diplomatic Victory now. 😁 Shocked this channel isn't far bigger. You're a natural at streaming/youtubing. Should be a lot more subs on board.

Great video, I learned a lot from it and did my first game trying a science victory, well I ended up winning of course but with a culture victory, I don’t even know how?!?? I guess my next series to watch are culture victory to understand what happened haha

I loved the Science Victory game. Finally finished watching it all and boy was that informative...I think that's the word. Anyway I do have a request or an idea for a guide you could make and I think a lot of people could take advantage of. That is what MAP is good for what victory. I recently toyed a little with different map sizes and shapes and for example (in my noobish humble opinion) I discovered that Clover shaped map is always Tiny or Small and you always start up on the coast with lots of food and little production. It kind of looks like good domination game map. As I mentioned before I am only learning the very basics of the game and I'm still playing ONLY science games with Korea, so on map like that I quickly realised that I won't be able to get 8 to 12 cities for science victory. In fact after like 10 turns I already reached centre where I met every other civ and it looked like 5 cities without war will be the best I can get. Something similar was on the snowflake shape map. So yeah...I could really use some advice what maps sizes and shapes benefit which victory more. Thank you for your hard work.

I know these are old vids- sorry for commenting. I’ve just discovered your channel after only really watching Potato and Boes for the past 3-4 weeks. Just a quick one on this- love your energy. You’re a great KZbinr! Gonna get into a stream some time and say hello! Could you possibly share your game settings? (Speed, map size, start location etc.) I’m trying to ‘mimic’ what you’re doing. Thanks again for your superb content!

I play this on xbox one. I always see youtubers pulling up that screen where you can see exactly how much science, culture, etc... The other civs have. Does said screen exist on xbox?

Noob question. In a science victory why didn't you prioritize Great Library, Oxford University and ...one more which I don't remember. I always rush for those but then again I only started playing like 2 weeks ago. I practice Korea at the moment so I was wondering why not science wonders. I already realized that production for Korea is a big roadblock so that Ruhr Valley makes absolutely sense but...why skip all the science wonders? It's a enigma to me. Thx for your hard work. Now I finally understand what the grants are for....guess it's time to spam them instead of neighbourhood districts (facepalm).

The main reason to be honest is I play on deity where you usually can’t get them, so when I was making this video I didn’t want to do to much that I wasn’t used too. On that note though, if you’re going to build Oxford University there are only a few cities in each game where is worth building. +20% in a city won’t do loads for you if it’s in a city that only has 10 science. So I’d try to find a city with a great campus and Pingala to make the most of it! Glad you’re enjoying the videos!

Hey man enjoying these videos, just found your channel. Just want to point out a few things. Firstly, you spent a lot of time concentrating on a good pantheon and ended up on +1 culture for plantations, yet you have almost no plantations. You harvested most of them lol...and as Rome you already get a free monument in each city. I'm questioning the choice there. Also, you prioritized 4 government promotions into Reyna for Contractor to buy a spaceport, which is smart. But you didn't use that same logic when building up your city with the Industrial Zone. You should have bought your factory and coal power plant with gold, as you said since they give production you don't want to spend production to get them otherwise the investment payoff comes later than it could.
@VanBradley3 жыл бұрын
I can’t remember the game to clearly, but you’re probably right about the pantheon choice! From what you’ve described it seems like a terrible choice 😂 I normally wouldn’t even take the plantation pantheon, so I’m wondering what prompted me this game. For the factory and coal power plant there are definitely situations where even if you have the gold to buy them, the gold can be better used elsewhere and you just absorb the production it. If I have 1200 gold for instance and I can by a factory that will take 6 turns in a city, or a University that will take 27 it’s more helpful for the total yields to buy the uni in the city with less production. I’m not saying that what happened in this game or anything, but there are definitely situations where you still need to build the industrial zone buildings. In any case, I’m sure there is loads more in this game that I messed up than just those 2 things, there always is. Appreciate you pointing them out though, it’ll definitely help us all get better 👌 Cheers

Are the problems caused by the population being unhappy for not having amenities small enough to typically ignore? Or is this just the case when going for the science victory?

Sorry for talking noob here, I enjoyed the series - just have some doubts... I missed how you went into 200 science *while* having >200 culture. There is just not enough time to do that in all the cities - was it because of free cities? You complained about no science states, but to me it looks like the free cities setup was actually very beneficial to the pace. Not only gave you civics faster, but also prevented cultural victory by AI. I also watched the religion spread all the time and I think you got very lucky to not loose the game to Tamar. Ghandi just got good at religious battle, but if he hasn't, which is where your luck is, you'd just be left with nothing. Maybe it works differently in R&F than in vanilla game, or maybe getting to space race in early XVII century is the reason you won . One mistake, 20 turns lost for some reason - and bang, game lost. Isn't this true? How much luck was involved?

What’s wrong with entertainment districts? Gives nice adjacency to your theater squares...
@VanBradley4 жыл бұрын
Nothing inherently WRONG with them, I just don’t particularly find them useful in most games. Because there are so many ways to get amenities I think that using the production and one of your valuable district slots on an entertainment complex isn’t really optimal. I’d much rather build a wonder that could potentially give adjacency to multiple theatre squares and also still allow me to build a more useful district like a campus or commercial hub. There are enough good wonders In the game to shoot for and there aren’t many easier ways to get science or trade route slots. Again, it’s all preference though. The best way to play Civ is how you like to play it and if that’s with Entertainment Complexes then that’s the way to go 👌
@PaulHiemstra4 жыл бұрын
@@VanBradley I think you are right. In the past I never really build entertainment complexes, but since the additional adjacency I've tried it a couple of times and it does help every now and then. But I agree there are lots of other good options that are usually better.

I watched the series hoping to get valuable information but this is a lot too advanced for me. I paused the video to write this comment when I heard 1500h of play time. I bought this game 2 days ago and most of the things your talk about are unknown to me for now. Will search around for more basic videos to explain what an "advanced constructor" is for exemple 😆
