Vance and hines short shots have always been my favorite pipes..classic look and sound...cant beat it!!! I have them on my 14' heritage

Agreed on the sound and look. But performance wise they don’t do so hot compared to a 2 into 1 set of pipes.

I have Python 2.5 slip-on mufflers on my 2011 XL883N, a Rough Crafts air filter and a Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner (SERT). I don't have any problems with popping with my setup. The Python slip-on mufflers aren't too loud, I installed them in 2012 and I had them powder coated satin black in 2019 to smarten them up a bit.

2:1 for my 1200r. I love a megaphone- chose a Bassani roadrage3 to pair with a Trask Assault airleaner.

I have short shots on my iron 1200 and they are awesome! Loud with that real Harley sound that’s why they are so popular! They do have good performance that’s why everyone uses them!

I have a 2015 1200 Sportster and I went straight from the stock exhaust to the Short shots. I do love the sound but even with the quiet baffles it is so loud I have to wear earplugs when riding. I have thought to switch over to the Cobra Speedsters. I have heard they sound alot like the Shortys but deeper.

The slip-ons, with a tune would have noticeably better power then short shots. Short shots look and sound great, but are low end power killers

The popping is from lack of tuning, you should get a Vances & Hines FUELPACK FP3, you can auto tune your own bike after ANY mod. It's a $400 best buy. God bless

Yea u can tune your bike while u ride, actually tunes it to how u ride and how quick you want your throttle response and such

I just love the look of the short shots, and the difference in performance between slip ins and 2 into 1’s etc I bet is negligible. I’d rather get the stage two torque cam and keep the short shots for how they look haha I have the ‘18 iron 1200 and they sound great. I’m going to try taking the baffles out for a ride, but I don’t think my hearing could take it tbf lol

Nice video, im bouncing back and forth between the short shots vs those slip-ons for my 21 bob. But im going with the V&H slip-on until my warranty runs out. But you did say while you ran the slip-ons, you were still on the factory tune, correct?

my question is what is louder the slip-ons or the short shots? I get crazy drone on my slip-ons I love the sound but it gives me a wicked headache after about 15 minutes of riding.

I like both, but I'd prefer the V&H, I like the deeper sound. Mounted some Remus slip ons on my Nightster.

If you want to get the most power out the sporty you always go with 2 into 1 exhaust I have Thunderheader I think it's best exhaust

They are cool but they are very short im in cali so the 👮‍♂️ are busy giving tickets I wen with the 2into1 upswept vance and hines lil longer and I get alot more clearance for leaning into turns more sweet bike over all
