Music is subjective. The way I see it, he is very artistic in the way he builds up the song going from a more talking voice to a more singing voice; or a lower register to a higher register. Personally I loved it, and I understand people may have different opinions, but this IS certainly music, as music is (to repeat myself) subjective.
