Audi RS6 - Stage 1+ VS Stage 1 VS Stock (Unitronic 1/4 Mile Testing)

For the first time in my life, I was given the privilege of driving an Audi RS6 Avant! To make that statement even more awesome, the moment I started driving it, I raced it down the 1/4 mile drag strip! What an absolutely awesome day of testing just how effective Unitronic's Stage 1 & 1+ software is for the Audi RS6. I raced the car in a completely stock form to set a baseline, and then I tuned the car multiple times track side to see how much quicker & faster I could go! I saw a MASSIVE gain in performance and was EXTREMELY impressed!

Better tyre/wheel setup, drop the pressures, E85 then easy tens. Might have even gone ~11.0 with lower pressures for a better launch.

The RS6 does not have enough head room in its fuel system to run E85. We didn't want to touch the tire pressures to get better performance. We simply wanted to see what the car could do with changing only one variable, and that was the performance software.

If you watched the entirety of the video, you can see the tires spinning on almost every single run. By building the full amount of boost, it would simply spin even worse, making my ET's even worse.

Was already running an E20 blend. It was simply the lack of traction that was killing me. The prep was absolutely destroyed.

@VancityAudi Good to know, thanks. So, basically (depending on conditions), the Uni stage 1+ is good for about 3-4 tenths of a second and 8mph or so.

​@TeddysVentures 8mph or more for sure, seeing as that is atleast what I saw. I think 4-5 tenths on average to be honest. The one run I managed an 11.4 when it was stock was very much a hero run, lol. Look at that 60ft time vs all the other ones. It hooked significantly better than any other run.

RS6 is a really great car, but also a heavy lad at 4700lb. Where I live in EU 95ron e10(us 91) are the min. octane you will find at the station. Im pretty sure the EU RS6 says 98ron (us 93) in the fuel door. These cars loves high octane, 100/102 ron are perfect. A standard bmw G90 M5 comp does the quarter on 11 sec streat.

Nice. Too bad the RS4 wagon is not available stateside. Will tuning the car void the factory warranty if something fails in the engine? I don’t think the folks at Audi would honor the warranty if they found out it had been tuned.

I spoke with Marc Litche (head designer of RS) in person at the factory in June 2018 as I was picking up my RS3 from the European delivery. He told me that the RS4 was coming to the US. That was 5 and a half years ago. He showed up on a green RS4 avant which we sat and took pictures with. I don't know why it never came to the US but like I said, Marc Litche told me in person that they were bringing it. It turned out to be a lie.

How much did unitronic pay you? 🤣🤣🤣 Either tires are the major limiting factor or those tunes are WAY overrated in power. 163hp gains should yield mid 10s, at worse high 10s@@VancityAudi
