Good stuff Dan, I had to do this to my MND90 when I done my custom light kit mod last year, I made my own wiring loom and plugged into the led light port that was empty on the stock mn board so I had solid running headlights

Did you modify the rear lights? My 99S does not have brake lights where yours are, they are red LEDs and are illuminated when in reverse only. It’s a ridiculous mixup and may have been a factory mistake. On the actual Defender 90, the upper rear {red} lights are combination brake lights and tail lights. The lower lights underneath them are amber and are turn signals of course, and finally the larger lights on the bottom next to the turn signals but inboard, one clear and one red, are the reverse light and the rear fog light, respectively.

No I didn’t do any mods to the brake lights. Sounds like it’s possibly a factory error

@@Van_City I looked at my circuit board and it is also different from yours *and* the one in the picture at 3:03, it's red on the top. Haha, they must change these every 6 months to a year, but it still has the 6 pin lighting plug so I will do the mod.

How would you go about adding a light bar, i thought about splicing into the headlight harness

You could possibly splice into the existing lights but you’d have to check the input voltage of the light bar and output voltage of the power source whether it be the headlights or directly from the board to make sure it’s not going to be too much voltage and burnout the light bar

Possibly the lights are plugged into the wrong socket

Yes that is how it comes from factory. If you watch this video I show you how to correct this by soldering the 2 pins together which will keep your headlights

I wouldn’t recommend s brushless it would be too fast. Single speed 370 brushed would be as big as I would go
