Canada lost the war on drugs a long time ago. Stupid system we have . Maybe we should have adopted the Japanese rules on drugs : “Use or possession of small amounts of drugs may result in a prison sentence of between one and ten years and Japanese law allows for a fine of up to 5,000,000 yen. Some people convicted of drug related offences have been issued a deportation order.” What country has zero homelessness? At 0.003% or roughly 1 homeless person per 34,000 residents, Japan is the country with the world's lowest rate of homelessness. Moreover, with a population of around 125.7 million people, the country also has one of the lowest numbers of homeless people. There are approximately 235,000 homeless people in Canada, but the figure may be grossly underestimated because the number of hidden homeless people is unknown. The Canadian government is trying to tackle the homelessness issue by, for example, providing emergency shelters that are open 24/7.
@RAPEDBYBLACKS8 ай бұрын
Japan could have no criminal laws at all and the rates would be the same. They are racially homogenous and culturally homogenous. They hate immigrants and foreigners. That is what makes their country beautiful and successful.

Honestly Canada has such vast land gov should just create rural towns for homeless with basic living essentials like water, pharmacy, food stations, shelters, etc . Anyone who is caught living homeless on the streets should get deported to these hypothetical towns. It would clean up our streets, free up room in jails for the real offenders and would probably be better for all parties involved. Especially with the legalization of drugs it would reduce exposure to open drug use.

If those alcoholics are rehabilitated (unlikely) they will find themselves still, living in an oppressive, autocratic dictatorial society.
