I think it gives 6 times 30% Magic Pen instead of just 30% Magic Pen... Since it doesn't stack additively but like 1-(1-0.3)^6 this would give 88.2% Pen.

As you guys are pointing out - Aurelion Sol wasn't the best pick - I fully agree and I apologize. Sadly Riot has turned off New Season from PBE so I couldn't get a better attempt once I realized it. I should have maybe tried Cassiopeia or Singed instead. Just to note: In the later try around 1 min: 0% Magic Pen had 462 Stacks, while 88% Magic Pen had 365. So in reality the difference there would be a bit bigger.

You are very right, my mistake - I apologize. Maybe Singed/Cassio would have been better as he can also tick fast. But to compensate the 0% magic pen I reversed order in the later clips. 0% Magic Pen had 462 stacks, 88% Magic Pen had 365

This is why getting MR is really hard for a lot of champs. Magic damage is especially countered by MR so much to the point where buying merc treds can win you an entire laning phase even in some losing matchups top and mid.

Part of the damage is base damage, also Aurelion gets damage from stacks, so it's just not the best champion for this comparison. Veigar's W would be better, or something like that.

i remember reaching almost 100armor penetration and 100 % crit chance with nilah on arena, when we had the 30% armor pene on eclipse, the augment that gave you armor pene, ldr , cleaver, and 33% from her passive

Even with 88% magic pen, Rammus had around 94 magic resist. So instead of almost true dmg, it was around half of damage from the tooltip. The entire magic pen/armor pen system should get reworked, since there is a critical mass of mr/armor where even if you have 40% mpen/armorpen, you deal close to no damage.

It's for battle mages like mord, Diana and swain who need the beefyness due to sustained DPS and being in your face. They only build void if insanely fed otherwise this is way better

Magic shred should not be taken lightly. Let me put it this way Eve has 40% magic shred. With her charm. She can one shot tanks with that. And that’s JUST her. Any mage would be able to one shot a tank at that point. All mage meta would be very viable. That’s not a future anyone wants.

tbh doesn't really matter because by the time rammus has 500MR, the opponent has taken 5 towers, 1 inhib, 1 nexus, your car, your house, your wife, your kids, and finally your will to life honestly this item is so inherintly stupid that idk what the fuck riot is smoking with this one. remove the ability haste and increase the health by like another 250, then give it maybe 20% AS and you're done it has an actual purpose in being a decently tanky option for champions like singed, mordekaiser, gwen, rumble and swain, but might still do well on champions like ryze and cassio i feel the main reason this item will suck on release is because its horribly statted, and i am not opposed to that since god knows AP items are almost always strictly better then their AD counterparts, but i feel if this item will be introduced this way it'll just be ohmwrecker 2.0
