Riot also said that they won't be making Ultimate skins because the quality of the skins won't be worth twice the cost of a Legendary. I feel like for reference. Smite (another MOBA) has skins similar to this, don’t remember the official name but all of them transform similar to this skin either based on level or sometimes ability usage. But they actually have meaningful changes to each skin. And they’re HALF the price of this skin. Let that sink in. These skins were around 100$, no rng required, and were essentially 3 skins combined. They looked good and had custom voices and even sometimes custom emotes. And actually, now that I’m thinking about it, some hade custom animations for the gods ults too. Just for comparisons sake I feel like that says everything that’s wrong with skins like this.

It's so fucking absurd that you can say to a fan's face that went through literal more effort than anyone awarded the emote and say "Nah, it would be unfair to them :))" like they fucking did something to be given the emote. It's not like they paid for it? They didn't have to do any task for it? They just had the luxury of knowing about the drop beforehand, that or they just leave the stream open and weren't even aware of the drop. Fun fact is that they told us in one of past dev-updates that they are adding two skin tiers that don't fit into conditions of established tiers. That means this skin has more to offer than ultimates even. Uhm. It has two forms, one of them is thematicly unfitting (Powder version), it doesn't have unique pentakill effects, it doesn't have custom skill icons (like Faker's Ahri for example), it doesn't have unique tower finishers, doesn't change via ingame events (like ulting 2 or more men as Winterblessed Diana or getting killes as Battle Queen Katarina), it doesn't lean into core reasons people wanted this version of Jinx ingame (hood I mean), forms have no unique animations and/or models (loke KDA Seraphine). If anything, it is a cheep ultimate or a glorified legendary. So.. what's so defying about this that it needs a new skin tier? Is it cost? Hope no poor soul decides to waste their money on this peace of crap

"Don't buy it" is literally everything you, and any and all of us, can do, that is not just straight up quitting. Riot isn't really doing anything wrong here, they're just selling low-value items for ridiculous prices which plenty of companies already do, whether it be physical or digital products. If whales buy it then so be it. At the end of the day, the whales are paying so we can continue playing the game for free. Skins don't affect gameplay, outside of a handful of skins which do because Riot sucks I guess, so they shouldnt really affect your opinion on whether or not you should play it either. Whether selling low-value products is morally wrong is up for debate, but it's not like it isn't known since before that Riot, and many other companies, are incredibly greedy and money is the North of their moral compasses. Would it be better for players if Riot released better-priced skins? Yes. as someone whos enjoyed more than a few gacha games, riot is out of their mind with the pricing, 250$ for guarantee is absurd , most wont even spend that to get 6 copys of a character in a gacha and most skins average out to 20-30 dollars, and are higher quality and generally do more with the character than anything riot has ever dished out, i think the they are pricing it based on their tft gacha, rather than looking at the actual market thats allready been established with this sort of thing , gacha is a scam and gambling in alot of senses, but atleast most of the time you feel good about what your getting for what your spending and it can be exciting alot of the time , riot is failing at the base level of that with their pricing and the quality of what they're providing, its pretty disappointing

If they are investing so much into Gacha, why they don't make a currency that we can get and hold for free like any other gacha game out there? These skins would not be so controversial if their gacha system worked exactly like everyone's else. This is literally worse than Elementalist Lux, not to mention it's literally a canon skin, that's what Jinx actually looked like at the end of Arcane. They literally could have sold this as an Ultimate and people wouldn't complain as much (still not worth the price, because of the two samey forms and the lack of visual variety), but it wouldn't be as hated as it is now.

In Belgium, you can't even purchase the skin as the temporary tab ("The Sanctum") won't show on your launcher. The reason why is that such company practice is deemed illegal under Belgian law, as loot boxes are considered as gambling potentially aimed at minors and vulnerable people.

I haven't played in a bit*, but I remember when they took Graves' cigar. Rito can have a skin that encourages gambling, but Graves can't have his cigar. But yeah, this skin is a joke compared to even the 2013 Spirit Guard (or smth) Udyr, which set the bar for the 'most luxurious' tier with Elementalist Lux, DJ Sona, etc. falling into that tier; every skin in this tier should have fully custom animations, voice, SFX and several different model variations. (Although they apparently reworked Udyr and got rid of his animal spirits, so how does that skin work nowadays?) *Disclaimer: Haven't opened League since season 8, after the release of Pyke but before Neeko (which I only know from the LEC). But I haven't really played SR 5v5 since season 5 or 6, when I started playing a lot more Dominion (RIP) and ARAM (especially before they added the annoying poro king snowballs to the main mode), and during S7 and early S8 I mostly played the rotating game modes (RIP) or TT (RIP).
