This fabulous record was first offered to Barbra Streisand, Linda Rondstadt and Celine Dion with each turning it down. Vanessa took up the mantle and scored a number one hit with the song in Australia, Canada and the United States - also making it to a very respectable number three in the charts here in the UK. Oddly enough, I can quite imagine Barbra Streisand singing this record, although a quarter of a century later - I can't imagine Vanessa not doing. I was only ten years of age in 1992 but can remember my mum singing along to this. Happy memories and one of the greatest records ever sung in the history of popular music. Chris (UK).

Sometimes the snow comes down in June Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon I see the passion in your eyes Sometimes it's all a big surprise 'Cause there was a time when all I did was wish You'd tell me this was love It's not the way I hoped or how I planned But somehow it's enough And now we're standing face to face Isn't this world a crazy place? Just when I thought our chance had passed You go and save the best for last All of the nights you came to me When some silly girl had set you free You wondered how you'd make it through I wondered what was wrong with you 'Cause how could you give your love to someone else And share your dreams with me Sometimes the very thing you're lookin' for Is the one thing you can't see But now we're standing face to face Isn't this world a crazy place? Just when I thought our chance had passed You go and save the best for last Sometimes the very thing you're looking for Is the one thing you can't see Sometimes the snow comes down in June Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon Just when I thought our chance had passed You go and save the best for last You went and saved the best for last

A lot of times in a live TV situation like this, singers will will lip-sync the vocals. None of that going on here! Totally sang it & nailed it. While pregnant. Also remember that there was no Autotune in 1993. So she wasn't leaning on that either. Always loved the vocal melody in this song. It's hauntingly beautiful.
