I'm really impressed with how relatively good the cheap or low cost gear generally is now. I grew up in the 70s, and I would have been pretty satisfied w the sound of this guitar and amp and i would have loved the price range. Gear was really expensive then, prohibitively so. This is a golden age of gear compared to then.

When I was a kid, I'd have been totally stoked to get a guitar like this. The amp was a let down though. You got some great tones out of the guitar! The outro reminded me of some ending anime tunes.

Beautiful little budget guitar, Rich. I dig it. And beautiful playing. Very emotive. Sounds really nice. It's truly amazing what we can get these days, for a little bit of cash. Unbelievable, really. I could have ended up with one a lot like this back in August 1995 when I got my first electric guitar. Only thing, I was too stubborn and snobbish about wanting the Fender logo (on both the guitar and the amp) and a model which at least loosely resembled the Eric Clapton blackie. I can imagine that my instrument retailer back then would have approved of this model as the kind of product he was trying to market, a guitar which would suit beginners and still be feasible when they got to an intermediate or advanced educational stage. I always think about that philosophy when I check anything out that's new to me.

Nice beginning package, but I don't think there's better out there right now than Squier's. Instant compatibility with Fender stuff, and it feels good knowing it's a Fender related product.

Guitar sounds good... the amp is a waste of time in my opinion would not help a beginner hearing awful sounds due to poor quality amplifier, l guess it comes down to budget!🎸
